UPDATE: Comedian Bernie Mac Dead at 50

Bernie Mac is still alive according to a recent report, but rumors continue to float around and gain strength that the comedian has passed on. Mac is in Chicago hospital being treated for critical case of pneumonia.

Comedian Bernie Mac was in “very, very critical” condition late Saturday at a Chicago hospital, according to a Chicago Sun-Times source who knows the comedian’s family.

His publicist has said Mac is responding well to the current treatment and that the illness is not related to his inflammatory lung disease.

It hasn’t been a good year for Freddie Mac or Bernie Mac so far!
