CSI fans were in disarray when it was announced earlier this year that William Peterson would be leaving the hit CBS show.  Most fans are in agreement that CSI, without Peterson, will simply not be the same.  So CBS is trying to replace the beloved actor with an established star with a big name.

Laurence Fishburne is the latest big name actor being rumored to join the cast of CSI according to TV Squad.

The search for a new CSI actor has been shrouded in secrecy, but sources say Fishburne is being courted to play a new character, described as a doctor/scientist outsider to the CSI unit who has the same genetic profile as a serial killer but hasn’t previously acted on any homicidal impulses.

Laurence would be a good choice for the show.  He is a veteran and well respected actor.  I have never watched the show, but Fishburne seems like he would fit right in.
