The 2008 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) took place last night in Los Angeles, California.  The Pussycat Dolls (above) and every other celeb you can think of made sure to pause on the red carpet for the photographers and to show of the hottest fashions they had on.

Several dozen photos are below of the arrivals on the red carpet including Katy Perry (above), Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus, Michael Phelps, Kid Rock, Christiana Aguilera, Bar Refaeli, Lauren Conrad, Brody Jenner, Spencer Pratt, Rihanna, Chace Crawford, Audrina Patridge, Fall Out Boy, Ashlee Simpson, Jonas Brothers and many more.

An extremely sexy (or tacky) Katy Perry (below) showed up looking like a modern day Wonder Woman. The “I Kissed A Girl” songstress posed for photos with Miley Cyrus and a host of others.  Miley made sure to attempt to kiss Katy, probably to post today on her MySpace page.

Christina Aguilera arrived looking more like Brooke Hogan than herself.

Lindsay Lohan arrived looking extremely classy and on top of her game.  Ashlee Simpson showed off just how pregnant she was in a black, conservative dress.

And here are a few of the men who looked extremely well groomed and dressed. Pictured below are Brody Jenner, Zac Efron, Chace Crawford, Chris Brown and Olympian Michael Phelps.

And it wouldn’t be a party without the crew of Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Holly Montag and Spencer Pratt from MTV’s ‘The Hills’.

I find a ton of irony in MTV having an award show for videos.  The last time I saw a video on TV was back in the early 90’s.
