Photog Jill Greenberg Humiliates John McCain (Photos)

John McCain - Atlantic Magazine Cover Photo

The Atlantic Magazine didn’t do their homework and hired unapologetic liberal photographer Jill Greenberg to shoot Presidential candidate John McCain for the cover of the October issue of their magazine.

Jill didn’t touch up McCain’s photo for the cover and has admitted that she did all she could to make the image look as bad as possible.

“I left his eyes red and his skin looking bad,” she told Photo District News.

Greenberg then used the outtakes from the shoot to doctor them via photoshop, add unflattering commentary, and posted them on her website (see images below).

Jeffrey Goldberg who wrote the accompanying article for The Atlantic had this to say about Greenberg:

“Greenberg doctored photographs of McCain she took during her Atlantic-arranged shoot, which took place last month in Las Vegas. She has posted these doctored photographs on her website, which you can go find yourself, if you must. Suffice it to say that her ‘art’ is juvenile, and on occasion repulsive. This is not the issue, of course; the issue is that she betrayed this magazine, and disgraced her profession.

Just four years ago Michelle Malkin wrote about how Greenberg had parents drop kids off at her studio for a photo shoot.  She would then terrorize the kids to make them cry and scream so she could get photos of them in a state of disarray.  She then used the photos in an attempt to attack President Bush.

A simple Google search would have turned up my post and posts by many professional photographers disgusted by what she did in 2004 and put on exhibit in 2006. This woman deliberately terrorized children, stripped them, ordered parents to “step out of the studio for a couple minutes” in concerted attempts to make children cry who were not cooperating, and then captioned the photos of the children with anti-Bush slogans.

The editors of The Atlantic have stated they were shocked about the shoot and didn’t know anything about Greenberg’s past.  Google?

Katherine Brittain Bradley, the wife of The Atlantic’s owner David G. Bradley, has given $28,500.00 to Barack Obama’s campaign.

“Some of my artwork has been pretty anti-Bush, so maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for them [The Atlantic] to hire me.” - Jill Greenberg

So what do you think about Greenberg’s photos?  Over the line?  No big deal?  Atlantic’s fault?

I believe The Atlantic hired her intentionally knowing she would do something like this and create a firestorm. Therefore bringing the magazine an unprecedented amount of publicity and sales.
