Every year here at Bumpshack I like to compile the most complete and accurate list of ‘The 10 Most Hated Celebrities’ in Hollywood.  Our inaugural edition back in 2006 is one of our most popular posts of all-time and was featured on TMZ, dozens of blogs, radio, tabloids all over the world, and my appearance on MSNBC Live.

Several bloggers joined me again this year to help discuss the ‘Most Hated Celebrities,’ as well as many friends, who sent me their lists of who they thought should make the final cut.

Some celebs have rehabbed their image since 2006, as only two celebrities from that list made our 2nd edition this year.  Those celebs being Tom Cruise and Paris Hilton.

Without further ado here is the ‘Top 10 Most Hated Celebrities of 2008.’   And the ‘Most Hated Celeb’ of the year is….

The 10 Most Hated Celebs of 2008

1. Paris Hilton (66 votes) - People continue to hate on Paris even though she didn’t do anything all that despicable in 2008.  Miss Hilton had a ho-hum year considering some of the more shocking things that happened to her last year, when she spent time in prison for being a drunk-driving mess.  David Letterman had a great time making fun of her on his show early in the year and even former Presidential candidate John McCain used her in one of his campaign ads to compare Barack Obama’s sudden fame to that of Hilton’s talentless ride to the top.  It does seem that she was beaten down pretty bad while she was dating the scum that is Benji Madden for most of 2008.  To cap the year off thieves stole more than $2 million dollars of jewelry from her home in December.  It’s easy to hate someone in this economy that is keeping that much jewelry at their home.  She repeats as the ‘Most Hated Celeb’ of the year, having won Bumpshack’s inaugural ‘Most Hated Celeb’s award back in 2006.  We love you Paris! -  Bumpshack (Joshua Holmes)



2. Spencer Pratt/Heidi Montag (60 votes) - Seriously, do we need a reason to hate these two?  Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are the most pimped out couple to come out of MTV’s pseudo-reality show “The Hills” and they couldn’t be any faker.  From fake virginity, fake boobs, fake pregnancy, fake marriage to the most unbelievable quotes and publicity stunts, they are the lowest low of American society. We always see them out doing nothing but posing for the cameras and we often realize there couldn’t be two people more perfect for each other. They are both so futile and have absolutely no brains at all, we hope they live happily ever after in their pseudo world of flash bulbs and tabloid headlines. -  Gossip Teen (Gossip Gal)



3. Madonna (53 votes) -Here is the issue with Madonna.  You are either a die hard fan or the thought of her is like nails on a chalk board.  This is a woman who was an iconic figure that fearlessly pioneered trends, but recently  fell into a vast pit of desperation. Whether she is trying to pass off a faux British accent or dominate the world via Britney Spears…this is a creature that feels she can do no wrong.  So, we are her minions and her sad attempts at recapturing her youth involve young male models named Jesus.  Sounds like a perfectly good match made in egotistical heaven. - Celebrity Smack!
   



4. Tom Cruise (50 votes) - He has tried to apologize and rectify his media mistakes in 2008, but it was all to no avail.  Despite his countless recent interviews from Oprah to The Hills After Show, his loony antics of years past (jumping on Oprah’s couch, calling out Brooke Shields, insulting Matt Lauer and pushing his cult on America) pretty much sealed his demise. As we revisited his 25th anniversary in Hollywood this year, we all realized  that he is a long way gone from classics like Risky Business, Top Gun & Rain Man.  Sorry, Tom… Valkyrie just ain’t cuttin’ it these days. Your Interview With the Vampire co-star Brad Pitt still has our hearts, and you don’t even have our pity. But hey, keep your chin up- you did produce a freakishly cute child. Tom is only the second celebrity to make both this list and the ‘Most Hated Celebs’ list from two years ago. - Backseat Cuddler (Meg)



5. John Mayer (44 votes) - John Mayer is man who has made it his quest in life to annoy and remain relevant by press whoring himself with Hollywood women.  His current victim is Jennifer Aniston which just amplifies his level of smug.  If he isn’t out drumming up some exposure for himself, he is bitching about the media via his blog.  John’s talent is outshined by his superiority complex and self worshiping.  Most women are begging for men to open up about their feelings, but this is one guy I wish would shut the hell up already. - Hollywood Dame (Cara)



6. Kanye West (32 votes) - All hail Kanye West, “the voice of this generation.” Kanye West, we hear you talking but no one is listening.  If he really is the voice of this generation then we are all doomed. Kanye’s arrogance is unbelievably annoying almost as much as his crying and childish temper tantrums he throws at award shows when he does not win.   Graduation to maturity seems to be something that even Kanye can’t sample.  Even George W. 7. O.J. Simpson (29 votes) - What’s there to say about O.J. this year, other than the fact every human being in the world belives justice was finally delivered, albeit fourteen years later than it should have been.  While he walked free after being acquitted of charges of double homicide following the 1994 murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and friend Ron Goldman, Simpson has been staring at the inside of a correctional facility since his October 3, 2008 conviction for numerous felonies including robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary with a firearm.  His conviction for the crimes will lock O.J. away for the next fifteen years.  What happens in Las Vegas in-fact doesn’t always stay in Las Vegas for the token-busty blonde abuser.  Nicole Simpson and Goldman unfortunately can’t pen a book with the title “If We Were Murdered”.  If they could, I’m sure that they’d be able to sway you as to why O.J. is so hated. - Jesus Hearts Music (Tim)



8. Perez Hilton (28 votes) - Perez has somehow made a name for himself by drawing on pictures and outing homosexuals.  His sense of humor is bad lately too…I used to think he was funny, but now I think he’s just crude. How many pictures of celebrities do we need to see with bodily fluids dripping off of their faces? Give the facial art a rest big girl.  Lately, paparazzi photos have appeared with him in them as the celebrity or sidekick, and he has taken every opportunity to flaunt them on his site. As if someone really wants to see what he really looks like. Okay, maybe I’m just jealous that he can charge $54,000 for ads on his site. - Knocked Up Celebs (Taylor Blue)

Rosie O’Donnell (26 votes) - This “woman” is plague on society.  Rosie use to shine on her own talk show back in the day.  It was a hit and I even enjoyed watching it back in the 90’s.  Her career has been steadily going downhill since then.  Rosie is nuts!  After she bombed  ‘The View”‘, I thought we would finally be rid of Rosie.  But, NO!  She had to try once again to win over America and this time she barely got her foot in the door.  NBC tried her out on a pathetic variety show, ‘Rosie Live’.  America screamed back by not watching and giving the show the worst ratings of the night.   The show was quickly dropped and that was that.  We have had enough of this frumpy, overbearing eyesore that just won’t go away.   - Backseat Cuddler (Jennifer G)



10. Denise Richards (23 votes) - Her reality TV show, ‘It’s Complicated,’ made her look so bad that most of us, who were unfortunate to watch it, finally started to actually see why Charlie Sheen might have been banging every stripper this side of Encino while he was married to the self absorbed and shallow Richards. Denise is so hated that she made Charlie look like the good guy in their split and that is no small accomplishment.  She should be eternally grateful to whoever did the casting for her role in ‘Wild Things’ which made her famous and for reality TV for extending said fame an additional 15 minutes. - Bumpshack (Joshua Holmes)

Rumors of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s split started when Jennifer appeared at the premiere of “The Curious Case Of Benjamin Bunton” without her engagement ring, wedding ring and Marc himself. Marc has also been appearing publicly without his ring and we really can’t remember the last time we saw these two together.

It is not easy to live with the demanding diva JLo, especially since the birth of their twins, Max and Emme, but it has been said Marc is extremely controlling and possibly even unfaithful. After Thanksgiving, Marc was spotted at Bungalow 8 and Marquee “with his hand on a woman’s thigh and overheard complaining about his wife to a group of women,” Us said. Jen is unhappy about her “Long Island housewife” status and blames her husband for her non-existent movie career.

Page Six that Lopez used to send her assistant on tour with Anthony while she stayed at home with their twins. “She wanted reports back so he didn’t cheat on her,” says our source. Lopez and Anthony are also reportedly selling the $8.5 million Bel Air estate where they were wed in June 2004.

The couple will make a surprising split on stage with one last duet together on Valentine’s Day according to the NY Daily News. It seems like their whole relationship started and developed on stage (including her “secret” pregnancy!).

“Marc and Jennifer are planning on announcing their divorce right after Marc’s show at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 14,” a friend of the couple tells us. “Jennifer is planning on joining Marc onstage for a surprise duet. Things haven’t been right for a while now, and they thought it would be a bittersweet farewell.”

I guess this is their happy ending! Something to remember…

“Trainwreck of the Year” Amy Winehouse is still soaking up the sun and disturbing the quiet environment of St Lucia on her Caribbean holidays. Thank God, this time she is actually wearing a tiny bikini, which barely covers anything but it’s still better than running around topless (photos here>>), and really short shorts.

Recently Amy’s former personal assistant, Alex Haines, exposed some of the singer’s most private secrets and habits like doing crack for breakfast, being bulimic and having an uncontrollable sex drive (I heard they call it sex addiction…). These new revelations seemed to have no effect as Amy continues to enjoy the holidays and (I must be high to admit it but…) she is looking good… I mean better!!

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria-Parker took her role serious in a retro-glamorous photo shoot and opens up about her relationship with hubby Tony Parker for the February 2009 issue of Glamour Magazine.

Eva thinks of herself as an old-fashioned housewife (who enjoys to cook, sew and take care of her husband) with a wild side. She also addresses the weight issues and pregnancy rumors, saying she only gained 7 pounds. Here are some highlights from Eva Longoria-Parker’s Glamour interview:

On whether she has a “type”: “I think sometimes women are stuck in a type. I’ve never dated the same type. I fall in love with personalities, and they come in different packages.”

Death Cab for Cutie lead singer Ben Gibbard is engaged to actress Zooey Deschanel according to MTV. Deschanel also is a musician and singer for the group She & Him.

Deschanel had previously dated actor/musician Jason Schwartzman and Mickey Madden from Maroon Five. Various Web sites are reporting that the couple have been dating for almost a year, and they shared the stage together — dueting on a cover of the Everly Brothers’ “Dream” — at an Obama fundraiser in August.

Deschanel’s She & Him released their debut album on indie stalwart Merge Records earlier this year. Gibbard’s Death Cab released a string of albums on tiny Barsuk Records from 1998-2004 (not to mention the ultra-successful Postal Service album Give Up on Sub Pop in ‘03) until making the leap to the majors with 2005’s Plans.

As an actress Deschanel has appeared in Elf, Yes Man, The Happening and 500 Days of Summer.

KnockedUpCelebs.com is reporting that Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol Palin has given birth to a baby boy.  Palin is engaged to the boy’s father Levi Johnston.

Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston was born on Sunday (December 28th) in Palmer, Alaska and weighed 7 lbs 4 oz.

Bristol is currently completing her high-school diploma through correspondence courses and Levi is studying to become an electrician. Levi has also said that he plans on marrying Bristol sometime in 2009.

Another unique and one-of-a-kind Palin baby name.  It is not the best though as I grew up with a Tripp.  If you knew or grew up with a kid with the name of a Palin kid then you either live in Alaska or the name is not as unique as it could have been.

Congrats to Bristol, Levi, Sarah, Todd and the rest of the Palin clan.

The 24 year-old Lingerie Football League player Melissa Berry is a rookie linebacker with the Tampa Breeze franchise, who has seen her nude photos published on MySpace by her ex-boyfriend Mark C. Dawson.

Berry is suing Mark C. Dawson, a professional lecturer, for the act as he tried to “extort, humiliate, and hurt her” by publicly showcasing the images.

Dawson, on the other hand, says that Berry gave her full consent for the photos.

“For her to say that these pictures were taken against her knowledge is untrue because she is smiling in them,” Dawson is quoted as saying. “She takes her clothes off for a living and tells people I am doing all this other stuff. What she’s doing now is creating a drama because there are pictures out there of her.”

The photos were mailed to specific people and were posted on Melissa’s MySpace page.

Reportedly the photos were taken by Melissa herself using her boyfriend’s cell phone. Melissa regretted it and completely destroyed the device when they broke up but what she didn’t know was that Mark had already download it and kept it on a safe place to use it against her later.

Cell phones, nude photos and angry ex-boyfriends are a bad combination. It’s bound to happen… just try to be more careful with what type of guys you share your intimate personal pictures with because you never know when it’s going to end all over the internet. Even if you share it with your husband it still might end in the wrong hands… just ask Tina Sherman!!

Actor Brad Pitt explains how hooking up with Angelina Jolie on set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” just seemed the natural thing to do. Yep, he was a married man at the time but considered to be stuck in an unhappy marriage with no children (the thing he wanted the most while Jennifer Aniston was too busy with her big screen career!).

Brad says: “I had a whole other life and I got to experience a lot. And I probably got away with more than I should. And it kind of ran its course, you know, it kind of hit a dead end. [Fatherhood is] the direction I always thought I would go in. But not until, with Angie and it felt like a natural evolution, a natural direction.”

Brad found love and someone who wanted the exact same things in his co-star Angelina. These quotes just seem to fuel the endless battle between Angie and Jen but on the other hand make it clear there are no bad guys in this story – just life happening when you are looking the other way!!

The movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” made Brad Pitt think about true love and the most important things in his life:

Brad says: “It’s a tragedy in the sense that any love involves loss, and that’s the risk you take. And the greater the love, the greater the loss. I certainly feel that now with the woman I’m with, and the children that I have. But whatever the course may be, this time together is extraordinary.”

Oh, please! Sickly romantic! We get it… Brad is completely in love with a woman who likes to throw knives during her temper tantrums and who has dedicated her life to having kids and being the sexiest humanitarian in the world… some guys have it all!! Lucky Brad! Let them live happily ever after!

Madonna is rumored to be “dating” hot Brazilian model Jesus Luz, who she met at a photo shoot for W Magazine just last month and later joined her for the Brazilian “Sticky & Sweet” tour (photos here>>).

It seems like Jesus has been hiding his shameful porn past, which didn’t take long to catch up with him. The 20 year-old starred in a cable TV movie in which three hot babes act out viewers’ fantasies. Jesus plays the unfortunate role of the drunken boyfriend who has to watch while his girlfriend does another man.

The young model guest-starred in an episode of a late-night Brazilian TV series in which a trio of actresses bring to life sex tales sent in by viewers.

Jesus, 20, plays Diogo, who is taken to a house party by his girlfriend but passes out on a chair after drinking too much. Once the party ends, his randy girlfriend starts flirting with another man.

She tries to raise Diogo and takes his top off, with the intention of having a threesome. But when he doesn’t come to, the frustrated girl has sex with the other man in front of him. With his toned torso on show, Jesus wakes up but his character is too drunk to make out what is happening.

Poor Jesus! He wasn’t actually doing anything in this pseudo-porn movie, he just watched. I’m sure Madonna just got a lot happier knowing her boy toy has experience… I wonder when will we get to see a Madonna and Jesus’ sex tape?! It should be hot, even hotter if someone offers Madonna a paper bag…

GossipTeen.com has released it’s list of the ‘Top 10 Teens of 2008′ and Miley Cyrus came out ranked #1 as the top teen of the year.  Miley was everywhere from every aisle of Wal-Mart merchandise to the top of the charts to the cover of ever celebrity tabloid cover this year.

Her racy MySpace photos brought her a ton of (un)wanted attention this year as did her controversial Vanity Fair photo shoot with her dad Billy Ray Cyrus.  The later part of the year was dominated by stories of her getting hot and heavy with 21-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston.

Eva Longoria Parker and her NBA husband Tony Parker have been married for one year, and since the beginning of their courtship, they have been photographed always looking madly in love. Eva recently told about feelings about marriage and her desire to soon have lots of little children. Here’s what she said:

“Married life agrees with me because I’m very traditional and I’m very domestic and Tony is the same way,” the actress told Extra, adding that lots of adorable kids will soon be on the way: “We can’t wait to start a family. I’m so excited about that chapter in our lives and you’ll know when it happens.”

Those two are going to make some freakishly beautiful babies. I love seeing traditional, old-fashioned and in love couples in the midst of the Hollywood hype. Keep the love coming, Parkers!

An American who went missing after falling overboard a Norwegian Pearl cruise ship might still be alive, U.S. Coast Guard officials believe.

There is a good chance Jennifer Seitz is still alive if she is in good physical condition and grabbed a flotation device before she fell, said Petty Officer Nick Ameen, a Coast Guard spokesman.

Water temperatures in the Gulf are relatively warm — somewhere in the mid-70s — so hypothermia would not pose a danger to her.

I would love for Jennifer to be found alive, but what are the chances that she managed to grab a flotation device as she fell off the ship?

Seitz, who may be a Houston resident, was last seen at roughly 8 p.m. EST Thursday, though her husband reportedly did not notice her missing until 3:50 a.m. the following morning.

Maybe there was foul play… I mean I’m pretty sure my husband would notice I was missing before 4am, but whatever.

Kanye West went old school with a vintage inspired letter jacket as he left Katsuya restaurant in Los Angeles last night. The bad boy, self-loving, best thing to ever hit the music scene hip-hopper paired the jacket with tattered jeans and finished off the look with a black scarf, sunglasses, white sneakers. Why does he always look angry?

As much as I dislike him as a person, the dude’s got mad talent and pretty good style. Keep the surprises coming, Kanye!

The Illinois House committee investigating a possible impeachment of Gov. Rod Blagojevich won’t subpoena two incoming White House advisers, despite a request from the governor’s attorney.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in a letter on Friday asked the special investigative committee specifically to not subpoena President-elect Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and Nils Larsen, a Tribune Co. executive vice president.

Fitzgerald said any such subpoenas “would interfere with the ongoing criminal investigation into the activities of Governor Rod Blagojevich and others.”

The 52-year-old Democrat was arrested on Dec. 9 and charged with scheming to sell President-elect Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat to the highest bidder, a charge the governor denies.

And what does Blagovich have to say about the scandal?

“Even in this process, without saying too much, that was all about trying to end up with the right decision that could do the most things for the people of Illinois, and when the full truth is told, you will see precisely that,” Blagojevich said.

“If somehow that’s impeachable, then I’m on the wrong planet and I’m living in the wrong place,” he said.

Well, I guess then you better move to another planet, Blago.

Israeli forces sent more than 100 tons of bombs on the Gaza Strip in one of the bloodiest days in decades of Israeli-Palestinian fighting. The attack killed more than 200 Palestinians and wounded at least 400 more.

But there doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of this tragic tunnel:

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said his country “cannot really accept” a ceasefire with Hamas. “For us to be asked to have a ceasefire with Hamas is like asking you to have a ceasefire with Al Qeada,” said Barak, in the televised interview Saturday afternoon. ” It’s something we cannot really accept.”

Some of the Israeli missiles struck in densely populated areas as students were leaving school, and women rushed into the streets frantically looking for their children. At least 15 civilians were killed, officials said.

The offensive began eight days after a six-month truce between Israel and the militants expired. The Israeli army says Palestinian militants have fired some 300 rockets and mortars at Israeli targets over the past week, and 10 times that number over the past year.

“There is a time for calm and there is a time for fighting, and now is the time for fighting,” said Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, vowing to expand the operation if necessary.

“There are heads without bodies …. There’s blood in the corridors. People are weeping, women are crying, doctors are shouting, ” said nurse Ahmed Abdel Salaam from Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s main treatment center.

Gaza’s political leaders are in currently in hiding. Perhaps they need to step out and take charge so innocent children can be spared of the horror and killings. Just a thought.

Some of the biggest names in hip-hop music took the stage at the WGCI Big Jam 2008 in Chicago last night. T-Pain, Lil Wayne and Keyshia Cole all performed for the crowd at the United Center. Cole was joined by some male dancers wearing very little clothing, and she herself looked smokin’ hot and showed lots of leg in a black leotard number.

The death of a beautiful 23 year old model, Sahar Daftary, has uncovered the world of Muslim polygamy in England. She died shortly after discovering that her husband of one year, Rashid Jamil, 33, was already married. He was arrested on suspicion of murder, but bailed by police after they found no evidence that the death was anything other than an accident or suicide.

Dafarty fell 150 feet from the twelfth story of a block of apartments where she had gone to collect her belongings from her businessman husband.
