Paris Hilton was robbed on Thursday night of her dignity.  Ok, so maybe she lost that a few years ago.  Paris was robbed of more than $2 million worth of jewelry last night at her Sherman Oaks home.

“At around 5 a.m. Friday, officers received a call from a security guard who reported that Paris Hilton’s residence had been broken into,” LAPD spokeswoman Julie Sohn tells PEOPLE.

“According to detectives, a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves forced entry through the front door, ransacked her bedroom, took unknown property and fled,” Sohn added.

An estimated $2 million in jewelry was stolen, according to the L.A. Times, citing unnamed detectives investigating the case.

Why anyone would have $2 million worth of jewelry at their home befuddles me.  It is almost like asking someone to rob you.  It is like a professoinal athlete wearing $5ook of jewelry and returning to the hood to say “What’s up! Look at me!”  Then they can’t believe it when they get a gun at their head and robbed of their bling.
