The New York Yankees and first baseman Mark Teixeira have agreed on a contact that will pay Teixeira $180 million over the next eight years to play baseball for the Bronx Bombers according to ESPN’s Buster Olney.

As a free agent Teixeira was pursued by the Yankees (at the last minute), Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals, and Los Angeles Angels.
