Backseat Cuddler is reporting that Eartha Kitt, famous for playing Catwoman on the original TV ‘Batman’ series has passed away in New York City.  She guest starred in the role in 1967-68.

Other women to play Catwoman during the three years of the 60’s TV show included Julie Newmar and Lee Meriwether.

Ms. Kitt was also famous for her seductive version of ‘Santa Baby’ that can be heard numerous times every Christmas season.  She was awarded a star on Hollywood’s ‘Walk of Fame’ in 1960.  Her star can be found at 6656 Hollywood Boulevard.

She recently had been awarded two Daytime Emmy Awards for her voice work on The Emperor’s New School.

Kitt had been battling colon cancer for some time.  She performed live and on stage until just days before her death.
