Kellogg’s Peanut Butter Crackers Tainted With Salmonella!?
Hold on to your crackers!! Do not eat any of your favorite peanut butter crackers, which include the Austin- and Keebler-branded crackers, because these products might be tainted with Salmonella and until the Kellogg’s Company can complete tests – this is just a precautionary measure according to Kellogg’s.
“Kellogg Company’s investigation has not indicated any concerns, nor has the company received any consumer illness complaints about these products,” the Kellogg statement said.
“Nonetheless, Kellogg Company is taking precautionary measures including putting a hold on any inventory in its control, removing product from retail store shelves, and encouraging customers and consumers to hold and not eat these products until regulatory officials complete their investigation of PCA and Kellogg (K, Fortune 500) provides further information as to the resolution of this issue.”
David Mackay, president and CEO of Kellogg Company says: “Consumer health and safety is our top priority. We are taking these voluntary actions out of an abundance of caution.”
It’s good to know someone cares about our health and not just about its company’s reputation and possibly lawsuits to follow. Now can they just hurry on those tests?? We are starting to go crazy without our sandwich crackers!!
Though consumers are urged “to hold the product until we have more information,” it was recommended anyone seeking a refund to call 888.314.2060 for details about how to get one. I would do just that!!
