Arrest Warrant Issued for Jason Caffey
A warrant has been issued by an Atlanta judge for the arrest of former NBA player Jason Caffey. The warrant is over his refusal to pay more than $200,000 dollars in child support.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Cynthia D. Wright issued an arrest warrant Tuesday over Caffey’s failure to obey a court order that he pay more than $200,000 in child support and legal fees to Lorunda Brown and her attorney.
“We’ve been trying to get his attention and this should do it,” said Brown’s attorney, Randy Kessler. Kessler said Brown is the mother of Caffey’s 6-year-old son.
Well that is one way to get your name back in the limelight. I am sure Caffey has spent most of the money from his journeyman NBA days. So I wish him good luck in finding the money to pay off Lorunda.

This is a more common occurence than you think. The problem is these guys father children all over the country and they share with theitr peers how to dodge the system. When the non-custodial parent is out of state it is next to impossible to collect on a court order issued by your state, despite federal laws.
My ex is a former AZ Cardinal. He actually played nine years in the NFL and 2yrs after retiring Robert Massey is claiming he is too broke to pay the $1100 a month child support. An arrest warrant was issued for him in Phoenix in March. Big deal!!! He is well over $200 thousand in back child support and even had the nerve to cash in the “irrevocable” trust fund set up for my sons college education back in 2001. He’s so busy dodging the child-support he has seen his son 1 time in the last 11yrs. The problem is he has seven children by 4 different mothers. Is this my fault? I guess in part; I should have kept going when I had the chance a long time ago.
My son is an incredible, successful, kind-hearted young man….. More man than his illegitimate father will ever be.
