Miley Cyrus, parents Tish and Billy Ray, and boy toy Justin Gaston all grabbed some lunch yesterday at Paty‘s in Toluca Lake. Miley woke sneakers with yellow laces, rolled up ripped jeans, a droopy striped sweater and a messy ponytail. This may be the first time I’ve seen Miley dressing her age- like a girl who just turned 16!!

Her boyfriend, however, was apparently trying to rock the emo look. I’m really not sure if those pants could get any tighter- the dude might as well be wearing leggings. I mean really, I know you are already in with the fam, but couldn’t you show a little more respect than showing off your package to the future in-laws?

Hamas spokesman Ismail Radwan warned Israel that Gaza would become a “graveyard” for Israeli soldiers, but Israel is not backing down.

Israeli tanks and infantry rolled into Gaza after nightfall Saturday, launching a ground offensive in a widening war against Hamas. “This will not be easy and it will not be short,” Defense Minister Ehud Barak said in a televised address shortly after the ground invasion began. “I don’t want to disillusion anybody and residents of the south will go through difficult days,” he added.

“We do not seek war but we will not abandon our citizens to the ongoing Hamas attacks.”

Israeli officials told NBC News that the goal is to strike at Hamas’ foundations and that the operation could take many long days.

This fighting seems like it has been going on since the beginning of time and I can’t wait for it to be over. This war-like any war- is not without heavy casualties.

Eight days of fighting so far have left more than 460 Palestinians dead and four Israelis were killed by rocket fire. Gaza is densely populated, and intense urban warfare in those conditions could exact a much higher civilian toll. The U.N. estimates that at least a quarter of the Palestinians killed so far were civilian.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the poor people caught up in this useless violence.

Singer/songwriter Jewel has a successful marriage to champion bull-rider husband Ty Murray, especially by Hollywood standards. When asked her favorite quote, it was one about marriage, and it’s awesome so I had to share!

After the birth of her first grandchild, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is out to set the record straight about her daughter and future son-in-law.

“You need to know that both Levi and Bristol are working their butts off to parent and going to school and working at the same time,” Palin told PEOPLE in a phone message Wednesday. “They are certainly not high school dropouts.”

The former vice presidential candidate said she wanted to be clear about their continuing work toward high school degrees because any suggestion otherwise “harms Bristol’s reputation and Levi’s reputation and their chances for good work opportunities.”

Bristol intends on getting her diploma through correspondence courses, while Levi left traiditional schooling to be trained as an electrician. The governor added  that she hoped Levi would eventually earn a GED, adding, “I respect that Levi is out there working hard.”

Nicole Richie’s been doing a lot of shopping without baby Harlow these days. She was first spotted bringing the sexy hippie look back on New Year’s Day as she grabbed some lunch in Hollywood. Yesterday, she and boyfriend Joel Madden sported almost matching outfits leaving Chanel- both wearing fedoras, chains, layered tops and black jeans. Nicole kicked up the hot factor by finishing off the look with some rockin’ black gladiator heels.

With the tragic death of John Travolta‘s son in the Bahamas this week and all the craziness surrounding Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, it has raised many questions about what Scientology really is and what they believe. So, I did some research and will give you some main points about the “religion”, cult, or whatever you want to call it.

The Church of Scientology has no denominational structure.

Scientology describes itself as the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others, and all of life.

One purpose of Scientology  is to become certain of one’s spiritual existence and one’s relationship to God, or the “Supreme Being.”

They believe that a human is an immortal alien spiritual being, termed a thetan, that is trapped on planet Earth in a physical body. Hubbard described these “thetans” in “The Space Opera” cosmogony.

Weirded out yet? I am.

Scientologists are taught that a series of extraterrestrial events, dubbed “space opera” incidents, ocurred before life on earth.

Scientologists also believe that humans have hidden abilities which can be unlocked.

In Scientology, the cosmic source or life force is represented by the Greek letter theta (Θ). Theta is meant to represent life or the life source, it is not part of the physical universe but it can control the universe.

So, a Greek letter can control the universe? Riiiiight.

The Bridge to Total Freedom provides the religious means whereby Scientologists use to increase their personal spiritual development based on a step by step process. The bridge is divided in two sides: “training” and “processing”. “Training’ is the religious education on the principles and practice of Scientology “auditing”; and “processing” is the actual practice of “auditing” itself.

Also, basic survival is broken down into eight dynamics. There are specifications about rebirth. There are ARC and KRC triangles, a tone scale, and rules about confidentiality and reincarnation.

I have studied world religions and I have to say, L. Ron Hubbard must have been on some nice trippy drugs when he thought up all this. People have a hard time believing there’s a God who created the universe but they believe a Greek letter can control it, there’s a space opera and we are all immortal alien beings? Wow.

Far from home,  non-BCS team Utah stayed undefeated and took home their second BCS bowl game win last night in New Orleans over Alabama. After a five play first drive touchdown, Nick Saban knew he was in for a game, and that he got. His arrogance was quickly shot down as Utah dominated the entire game from start to finish, ending with a 31-17 win at the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Here are some fun facts about the two teams:

• Utah became the first school with two undefeated seasons in the BCS era (since 1998), extending its current bowl winning streak to an FBS-best eight games.

• Alabama finished the year by dropping its final two games after starting 12-0.

• The Crimson Tide, playing without offensive lineman Andre Smith, surrendered a season-high eight sacks and rushed for a season-low 0.9 yards per carry.

• Utes quarterback Brian Johnson threw for a season-high 336 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

And now we have more questions about the flawed BCS system in college football.

After winning the Mountain West Conference, the Utes were left out of the BCS national championship game in favor of perennial powers Florida and Oklahoma, even though both have one loss.

That’s bound to bring more calls for changes to the BCS system, because Utah showed it could do more than just hang with the big boys, it could dominate one of them.

Regardless of this win, Utah wouldn’t be undefeated if they played in a “big boys” conference like the Big 12 or the SEC. So, I still think the right teams are going to the championship.What do you think?

The stars of A Double Shot at Love on MTV, the bisexual Ikki Twins hosted an evening at Jet nightclub inside the Mirage Resort Hotel & Casino in Vegas last night. The girls wore matching skin tight bustier leopard print “dresses” and black wedge heels. I’m not sure if the skirts could’ve gotten any shorter or the tops any more low cut and it still be legal.
