Elegant actress Kate Winslet finally broke through on Sunday night at the 81st Academy Awards in Hollywood and won her first Oscar for Best Actress over the likes of Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway and Melissa Leo.  Winslet had been nominated numerous times before for an Oscar.
