If Arnold Schwarzenegger can do it then Val can right?  Actor Val Kilmer is discussing the possibility of running for the governorship of the state of New Mexico.  Kilmer seems inspired by

“I’m just looking for ways to be contributive,” Kilmer said, dunking his tea bag in a big mug of hot water at a local restaurant. “And if that ends up being where I can make a substantial contribution, then I’ll run.”

Kilmer seems inspired by the election of President Barack Obama and is mulling public service in the wake of Obama’s historic election to the Nation’s highest office.

“I haven’t voted very much,” he acknowledges — although he cast a ballot for Barack Obama from Bulgaria, where he was filming.

Before that, Kilmer hadn’t voted in New Mexico since he registered in 1992, according to registration records.

The next election in New Mexico for governor takes places in 2010.

It sounds as though Kilmer is extremely green politically and likely won’t run.  I am sure he geninuely feels inspired to do something, but the odds of him running and being elected the governor of New Mexico have to be rather slim.  But as Arnold can atest — anything can happen.

Kilmer is best known for his roles in ‘Batman Forever,’ ‘Tombstone,’ ‘The Doors,’ ‘Top Gun,’ and ‘The Ghost and the Darkness.’

Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard came to Michael Phelps’ defense after a photo of the 23 year-old smoking weed was published by a British tabloid. Amanda compares the kind of negative attention Michael is getting to what she went through after she posed naked for Playboy Magazine before the Beijing Games.

Amanda says: “If anyone knows public scrutiny, it’s me,” the four-time Olympian said in a text message. “When I posed for Playboy, so many officials looked down on me. Michael knows he isn’t a bad person. He made a mistake. People need to get over it. I want to cheer him on in London.”

Since the controversial photos came out, Phelps has apologized to his fans, was dropped by Kellogg’s and suspended for three months by USA Swimming. Others have also showed their support to the Olympic record holder:

Gold medalist Ryan Lochte, who was one of Phelps’ teammates and main rivals in Bejing, said: “It really is kind of harsh. It’s just a picture.”

And even a rival agent came to Phelps’ defense.

“Enough is enough,” said Evan Morgenstein, who represents a large number of Olympic swimmers. “The penalty is far greater than the crime. He has said he is sorry. Let’s move on to the real problems in this country.”

Phelps is young, he made a mistake, he is taking responsibility for his actions and we really hope to see him back on his feet to the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Cereal giant Kellogg’s has dropped swimming giant/legend/Olympian record holder Michael Phelps as an endorser of their products in the wake of Phelps bonehead decision to take a marijuana bong hit in front of a camera.

Kellogg Co. said Thursday that it will drop its endorsement deal with Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps following his acknowledgment he inhaled from a marijuana pipe.

The 23-year-old swimming star has apologized for his “regrettable” behavior and “bad judgment” after a photo appeared Sunday in the British tabloid News of the World that showed Phelps inhaling from a marijuana pipe.

Phelps won’t be going broke anytime soon though.  Almost everyone of his other sponsors are standing behind him and not taking action to end or void their deals.

Most of his major sponsors, such as Visa Inc., Speedo, luxury Swiss watchmaker Omega and sports beverage PureSport’s maker Human Performance Labs, stood by the athlete following the news, even if they didn’t condone his behavior.

Michael had to assume the hammer would drop at some point.  He likely won’t even notice this with all of the other money he has made and continues to rake in.  USA Swimming on Thursday also took action by banning Phelps from competitions for three months.

USA Swimming has suspended the great Michael Phelps for three months in regard to the photo of him taking a hit off of a bong.  The federation admitted that no doping rules were violated, but that they still needed to send a message to Phelps and others.

“This is not a situation where any anti-doping rule was violated, but we decided to send a strong message to Michael because he disappointed so many people, particularly the hundreds of thousands of USA Swimming member kids who look up to him as a role model and a hero,” the Colorado Springs-based federation said in a statement.

“Michael has voluntarily accepted this reprimand and has committed to earn back our trust,” the statement said.

Phelps had to know disciplinary action would be coming from somewhere regarding this incident.  This incident might be more bland if he had not been arrested for driving drunk after the 2004 Olympics.  Instead we have to start questioning the maturity and decisions of Phelps.

Did you ever wonder why would Tom Cruise be promoting his new movie “Valkyrie” in Brazil? If it’s not for the good weather, the beaches, the family time he got to spend with wife Katie Holmes and daughter Suri, it’s for the amazing plastic surgeons operating in the country.

Tom and his family reportedly visited the private island of the famous Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, best known for his work with Brazillian celebs. I don’t think the Cruises were there seeing the rich animal life of the island, they could have visited to the zoo instead.

So Tom must be looking into getting some work done. The truth is he is getting old and has a hot younger wife. Plastic surgery is not such a good idea for someone who earns his life pretending to act but he has to look good on screen.

New Kids On The Block Jonathan Knight’s ex-boyfriend Kyle Wilker is selling their love story to the National Enquirer. I’m not surprised at all since we already knew Jonathan was gay so it was really just a matter of time before a gold-digger showed up to tell the true story.

Jonathan and the 27 year-old Brazilian model Kyle have only dated for 18 months but it was an intense relationship. Kyle says: “We had a wonderful relationship. I was in love with him and I believe he was in love with me.” Kyle also reveals Jonathan likes to stay home and be quiet: “I call him a straight guy who happens to be gay.”

New mom Jessica Alba shares the experience of giving birth, which she describes as something as natural as cramps, tips for a hot post-pregnancy body and how hard it was for her to get back into shape. For Jessica the workout was much more painful than giving birth… she is one really strong woman or she was completely drugged when it happened!

Jessica also confesses to have a poor fashion sense and her exotic look. Here are some highlights of Jessica Alba’s Elle Magazine interview:

On giving birth: “Contractions aren’t that bad. If you’ve ever had bad cramps? That’s what they’re like. But that moment when they put the baby on your chest – that’s deep. It’s a deep experience.”

On snapping back into shape so quickly after giving birth: “I did it for the Campari job. [The workouts] were horrible. I cried. And I haven’t worked out since.”

Her secret to looking slim after giving birth: “I wore a girdle. Eight weeks after my girlfriend had her baby, you could see her six-pack. She told me to put an elastic band around my waist – any kind of band or girdle works. She was like, “I slept in it.” I didn’t recover as fast as she did. I don’t have a six-pack – that’s just not my body at all.”

On separation anxiety: “This is the first time I’ve been away from her. It’s been six days. It sucks; it’s the worst thing ever. But we Skype, so I can see her on video. The worst is when you can see her little chubby hands grab the screen, and I’m not there. [She pauses, her eyes welling up, then laughs as she wipes the tears away.] That’s a new thing – I never cried before. Just being a mother is making me a big, weepy mess.”

On fashion: “I’ve always loved beautiful clothes, but I’m not very hip to the coolest, newest, most fashionable thing. I’ve always liked mixing casual things with nice, beautiful pieces – mixing masculine and feminine. I just didn’t always know how to do it. As a kid, I bought random, thrift store stuff and hoped that it worked. Sometimes it didn’t.”

On her husband having a say in what she wears: “Whether I’m dressed as a boy or wearing a gown, he’s pretty cool about it all. He doesn’t want to change me. He’s always like, “Okay, whatever makes you happy.”

On having an exotic look: “Anyone who’s part of pop culture is going to be sensationalized and spun into something, some one-liner. Also, there aren’t many other stars, besides Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez, who most people in the world can related to. We look like people of the world – I can kind of mix in with girls in Asia, South America, Europe.”

The great Etta James is threatening to whip Beyonce’s curvascious backside for singing her song at one of the Inaugural Balls attended by President Obama.  Heck, Etta wants to beat her down for even showing up at the event.  Etta, rightfully so, believes that Beyonce was not worthy enough to perform at such a historic event.

“You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears? Wait a minute, he ain’t my president, he might be yours, he ain’t my president. You know that woman he had singing for him, singing my song–she’s going to get her ass whipped.”

“The great Beyonce. I can’t stand Beyonce,” she spat. “She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol’ president day, singing my song that I’ve been singing forever.”

I am going out to buy every Etta James recording I can find today.  She is my hero after her slam of Beyonce. I think she said what many of us have thought for a long time.  Etta should have been up there like Aretha Franklin was during the Inauguration that morning.

Shepard Fairey, the artist who painted the historic portrait of President Barack Obama (see above), is being sued by the AP (Associated Press) for copyright infringement.

The image, Fairey has acknowledged, is based on an Associated Press photograph, taken in April 2006 by Manny Garcia on assignment for the AP at the National Press Club in Washington.

The AP says it owns the copyright, and wants credit and compensation. Fairey disagrees.

“The Associated Press has determined that the photograph used in the poster is an AP photo and that its use required permission,” the AP’s director of media relations, Paul Colford, said in a statement.

“AP safeguards its assets and looks at these events on a case-by-case basis. We have reached out to Mr. Fairey’s attorney and are in discussions. We hope for an amicable solution.”

“We believe fair use protects Shepard’s right to do what he did here,” says Fairey’s attorney, Anthony Falzone, executive director of the Fair Use Project at Stanford University and a lecturer at the Stanford Law School. “It wouldn’t be appropriate to comment beyond that at this time because we are in discussions about this with the AP.”

What can I say?  This is the AP at its finest. They wait until the image becomes super popular and is making the artist money before they decide to sue the guy.  The AP, which many believed was in the tank for Obama during the election, had no problem keeping silent while the image helped BO obtain the office and became the symol of his election and him.

I believe this is totally fair use. The artist does say the painting is based on the photo, but the photo is not an exact replica of the photo.  The photo is boring, dull, and common.  Fairey turned it into something magicial, historic and not the AP is trying to profit off of his talent, not their photographers.

Sheyla Hershey, a 28 year-old girl from Texas, has broken the record for the biggest breast implants with an astonishing size of 38KKK. Apparently these enormous balloons are beautiful to their owner, Sheyla says: “To me, big is beautiful. I don’t think I have anything to worry about.” I don’t think it’s beautiful or attractive… I think it’s disgusting, unnatural and you can even use them as a cup holder! UGH!!

The surgery from FFF to KKK size was denied in the States so Sheyla had to go to Brazil to get done. Reportedly doctors were afraid her boobs might explode… I don’t think it’s healthy… where are her lungs and heart? It’s all BOOBS!! LOL
