Tonight’s American Idol live blog is not so live as I had to attend my nephew’s 10th birthday party.  But here is the live blog thanks to the joys of DVR.  Tonight’s theme was ‘Popular iTunes Downloads’ so that basically opened it up to any song imaginable and gave a nice advertisement to iTunes in the process.  All songs performed on Idol are available for download on iTunes.

Anoop Desai - ‘Caught Up’ - I thought the background singers overpowered him for most of the song.  Totally a new side with Anoop going all Joaquin Phoenix R&B/Rap on us.  He is not nearly as smooth as Usher singing this song and often looked as if he were in pain.  Luckily he never even attempted to dance like Usher.  Overall his performance was so-so.  There will be a lot worse tonight.  Grade: C+

Megan Joy - ‘Turn Your Lights Down Low’ - EWWWW!  Rough, jagged, unprofessional, horrible, and not nearly enough bad adjectives to describe Megan’s performance.  She was a deer caught on the train tracks tonight.  Her stylist should be fired as well. She highlighted all the wrong parts of Megan’s physique.   I am starting to think that Megan seems better when she is sick with the flu.  This very likely could be the worst performance of the night. EWWW!!  Grade: F

Danny Gokey - ‘What Hurts the Most’ - He is one smooth cat.  He has yet to give a bad performance and he might be incapable of it.  He is smart, mature, and well educated which helps him make good song selections and make choices that will highlight his strengths.  I think he could have helped himself a bit by stepping outside of the country genre, but Danny was really good with this Rascal Flats song.  Although he is in competition with Megan for the ‘Worst Dressed of the Night’.  Grade: A

Allison Iraheta - ‘Don’t Speak’ - My very first thought is she looks like Pebbles from ‘The Flintstones.’  Again, the stylist tonight needs to be fired.  She looks like she got busted stealing clothes in a thrift store bathroom.   Either way ‘Pebble’s’ is going to be a superstar.  She really rocked this No Doubt song and was very Stefani’sh on it.  Her immaturity and age might keep her from winning it all, but that doesn’t mean that she shouldn’t win it.  Either way she is a superstar in the making.  Grade: A-

Scott MacIntrye - ‘Just the Way You Are’ - First, Scott really reminds me of NKOTB Joey MacIntyre from back in the early 90’s.  Secondly, I am just not a huge fan of Scott.  He doesn’t have enough to sniff the finals but will likely skate through this week.  His hair, clothes and comments were terrible.  As far as his performance, it was one of his best to date.  He did a very good job with this Billy Joel classic. Scott is not unique though and he never makes a song his own.  I would vote him off, but I think he did enough to slip through to next week.  Especially considering some of the truly horrible performances tonight.  Grade: C+

Matt Giraud - ‘You Found Me’ - He failed to connect with the audience, judges or America with this song.  He chose a song that spotlighted all of his weaknesses.  Bad decision by Matt to play the keyboard.  I think most of the time we see a modern day artist trying to rock the keyboard we automatically think we are in 1986…and that is not a good thing.  His vocals were bad and he chose a bad song for him.  He was in the bottom three last week and could very well be in trouble of getting sent home this week.  Grade: D+

Lil Rounds - ‘I Surrender’ - Lil with another great wig this week.  She looks like a different woman each week.  She is a very good singer.  She has a very strong voice.  She had some rough parts in this performance but they weren’t major.  She had some trouble reaching some of the notes.  I just noticed David Spade sitting behind the judge’s table.  I at first thought Heather Locklear was sitting next to him but then realized it was either his mom or grandmother.  Lil will be back next week in all likelihood.  Grade: B+

Adam Lambert - ‘Play that Funky Music’ - The bad fashion continues tonight.  Best dressed of the night was likely Lil Rounds.  Adam is taking a chance with this Vanilla Ice Wild Cherry song.  His hair is horrendous.  It looks as if he has been wearing a hair net all day.  I think my new nickname for him is ‘Gothvira.’  The dude can sing, but I am not a fan.  He is very polished and I just don’t like the contestants who have a done of experience going into the competition.  Kara showed us last week she can’t count and this week she tried to reference ‘Studio 54′ but instead said ‘Studio 57.’  Adam is going to get a recording deal regardless if he wins.  Grade: A-

Kris Allen - ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ - He is making me a bit nervous breaking out the keyboard. I guess he didn’t learn from Giraud’s mistake.  This cat has a future.  He is the most attractive contestant remaining in the contest.  He is extremely diverse vocally.  He showed Giraud how to rock it properly on the keyboard.  He is one of the best and the best performance of the night in my mind.  He better be back next week.  Grade: A+

I’m starting to think Britney Spears’ “My p**sy is hanging out!” incident wasn’t exactly innocent. Is Britney desperate for attention??? The second “episode” happened last week when the troubled popstar shouted “Merry Christmas” and now she was dancing then screamed “Woo, B*tch!” in Houston, Texas.

Britney has recurred to swearing once again! We hope parents don’t forget to protect their children’s innocent ears during the Circus tour. Britney’s Circus is more like a striper/burlesque show made for an adult audience than a concert (Brit sure isn’t singing LIVE!).

It is finally official!  University of Memphis coach John Calipari has left the Tigers, along with his entire staff, to become the next coach at the University of Kentucky.

The Wildcats coaching job came open last Friday when they fired head coach Billy Gillispie after just two years as their head coach.

Calipari had spent the past nine years at the University of Memphis.  During that time Calipari had a record of 253-69 with several trips to the NCAA tournament, and a trip to the National Championship game last year.

The job with Kentucky will be Calipari’s third head coaching job as a college coach.  His overall record is 446-140 with two trips the the Final Four.  His first Final Four, in 1996, was vacated over NCAA violations regarding a player taking money from an agent.

Calipari had already booked the #1 recruiting class for the Memphis Tigers.  He will reportedly take most of that class and at least one or two current Tigers to the University of Kentucky with him.

Alyson Hannigan and her husband Alex Denisof have welcomed a healthy baby girl named Satyana Denisof, according to Knocked Up Celebs.

Satyana Denisof was born on March 24 in Los Angeles, which just happens to be the same day that Alyson celebrates her birthday.

Alyson and Alexis started dating on set of “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”, finally tied the knot in 2003 amd decided to keep their baby’s gender a secret. We can’t wait to see the first baby’s photos… lil Satyana (another weird celebrity baby name) must be a beautiful baby!!

“Fast and Furious” star Michelle Rodriguez was reportedly not feeling well after a long flight from Germany to Mexico and had to be wheeled out of the airport. When some reckless paparazzo started to take pictures of her and asks her questions, Michelle completely lost it. Before her assistant could intervene, Michelle jumped out of her wheelchair and ran after the poor paparazzo.

Fellow co-star Vin Diesel was a real sweet and managed to say being in Mexico is “incredible”. Vin feels like he is a new man since he became a father and he and his super hot Mexican girlfriend, Paloma Jimenez, are reportedly planning to expand the family.

Actor/singer Andy Hallett, best known for his role as Lorne in hit TV show “Angel”, died on Sunday (March 29) at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, with his father Dave Hallett by his side. Andy was battling a heart disease, which ended his acting career, for more than five years.

“Buffy: The Vampire Slayer” creator Joss Whedon spotted Andy Hallett in a revue at a Los Angeles nightclub and created the character Lorne just for him in the show’s spin-off “Angel.” Andy died at 33! He will be missed! Lorne was my favorite and he was the cutest, most amazing green demon ever!

Actor Vin Diesel, who is promoting his new movie “Fast and Furious”, has confessed his life completely changed when he and his girlfriend Paloma Jimenez welcomed their daughter Hania Riley last April.

Vin said: “It’s changed my life and everything that falls under that umbrella. You can’t pull me away from my house as easily as you used to, because I’ve got a nine-month-old thing on me and it’s heaven. I love it. I love being a dad. I’m a changed man.”

The baby’s momma is a 24 year-old Mexican model that has been featured on Maxim Mexico and various ads for Pantene, Coca-Cola and Honda. Paloma and Vin are looking forward to expand the family.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen bares all for the interview and cover of the latest issue of Vanity Fair (May 2009). The newlywed opens up about her close relationship with husband Tom Brady and how she feels about her stepson John. On falling in love with Tom Brady: “I knew right away — the first time I saw him. We met through a friend. I had to go home for Christmas, but I didn’t want to leave. You know that feeling of, like, you can’t get enough? From the first day we met, we’ve never spent one day without speaking to each other.”

On finding out Tom’s ex Bridget Moynahan was pregnant: “It was definitely a surprise for both of us. In the beginning you’re living this romantic fantasy; you’re thinking, This can’t be true, it’s so good! And then, Whoops—wake-up call! We were dating two and a half months when he found out, and it was a very challenging situation. Obviously, in the beginning, it’s not the ideal thing . . . I think it was a blessing, because otherwise I don’t think I would have known what he was made of, and he wouldn’t have known what I was made of . . . Our relationship has become so much stronger, and I think I wouldn’t be as certain as I am today if it weren’t for that.”

On baby John: “I understand that he has a mom, and I respect that, but to me it’s not like because somebody else delivered him, that’s not my child. I feel it is, 100 percent. I want him to have a great relationship with his mom, because that’s important, but I love him the same way as if he were mine. I already feel like he’s my son, from the first day.”

On Leonardo DiCaprio: “Leo is a really wonderful person. We still speak sometimes, and I’m friends with his mom. He still has one of my dogs. He’s done a lot for the environment, and I admire what he’s done. We know what we had; we were very young, and we grew together in a lot of ways. We were just not meant to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but I respect him enormously, and I wish him nothing but the best.”

On her future: “I would like a big family. I love children. When you come from a big family, you see that growing up you’re learning how to share. Your sisters have got your back; you’re not alone in this—‘We all support you!’ Your family provides that; it gives you a sense of safety, and it’s a very grounding feeling. A private message sent from Britney Spears to her lawyers in January, where she makes a cry for help to escape the conservatorship she is under, was leaked online. Britney says her father, Jamie Spears, has threatened to take the kids away from her. This is shocking! I thought as Brit’s dad, Jamie would like to see his daughter happy with her own boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Actor Josh Hartnett was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital earlier this morning, after an ambulance picked him up the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. Josh called 911 at 12:53 am, complaining of abdominal pains, according to TMZ.

Even through Josh walked to the ambulance on his own, it seems the situation can be serious. The actor appeared to be accompanied by an unknown female friend (check video below). We will keep you updated…

Josh Hartnett’s rep has released the following statement: “Josh Hartnett walked into an ambulance at approximately 1:45 am this morning suffering from a flare-up of a gastro-intestinal problem that plagued him while he was starring in the West End of London during the production of Rain Man his publicist Susan Patricola was quoted as saying. He is under observation but is resting comfortably.”

The Kentucky Wildcats have fired head basketball coach Billy Gillispie after just two seasons on the job.  The move comes after a disappointing but not disastrous season.

The Wildcats went 22-14 and made the NIT.  However the 14 losses were the second most in the school’s history.  Gillispie was 40-27 during his two year enslavement to the University.

Most reports indicate personality conflicts between Gillispie and the Wildcats administration and fans seem to be the biggest reason for the decision.

ESPN summed it up best: “His seemingly random substitution patterns seemed to mystify the 24,000 assistant coaches who pack Rupp Arena every winter.”

Gillispie was successful in turning around the programs at UTEP and Texas A&M before being hired by the Wildcats.

“Eight is Enough” star Willie Aames is facing a serious economic crisis that has deeply affected his life and forced him to hold a garage sale at at his Olathe, Kan., home on Thursday. Willie sold everything he could, including furniture, autographed photos and his TV and movie memorabilia in order to get some cash to quickly pay off his debts.

The 48 year-old actor, who battled a drug and alcohol addiction in the past, confessed he tried to commit suicide after he had to declare bankruptcy and his wife of 22 years left him last year. Willie is so desperate he even let a camera crew film his garage sale for a TV documentary about his life.

The “Sexiest Swimsuit Model In The World” Joanna Krupa doesn’t have a problem with stripping off and posing naked for photo shoots. The 29 year-old model/actress defends nudity as art and as a way of showing off God’s beautiful creations.

“I think worrying about going topless in a photo shoot or film is really ridiculous,” Krupa told FOXNews.com in an exclusive interview. “And the fact is Pope John Paul said, since we were born naked, it is art, and it’s just showing a beautiful body that God created.”

“I was born in Europe, and Europeans have a more casual, natural way of dealing with nudity,” Krupa adds. “Interestingly enough, these days, you see nudity and toplessness in almost every critically acclaimed movie, and whenever I pick up a French Vogue, I see bare breasts, and French Vogue still sets the standards.”
