Jim Cramer Takes Beating from Jon Stewart on ‘Daily Show’

Video footage of ‘Daily Show’ host Jon Stewart hammering CNBC’s ‘Mad Money’ host Jim Cramer about misleading the public on investments, the liquidity of corporations, and focusing too much on entertainment instead of holding companies accountable.

Cramer conceded they were too eager to believe what the corporations were feeding them and should have took steps to look into the veracity of what they were being fed.

The interview took place on the Comedy Central’s ‘Daily Show’ on March 12, 2009.

Dear Mr. Stewart: I watch your show frequently, and you usually do not take anything like Jim Cramer on, but I have to compiment you on doing this for the sake of the public. I too have watched Jim Cramer, and listend to his suggestions, and you are right, he has a certain responsibility to the public. We have all taken a beating. The networks have 3 hours + about the economy, and people do listen, as they are frantic. Some people don’t read, or even open their statements from their stock companies, and have taken huge losses. I think that you have shown loads of class to take on an issue that really bothers you personally. I think that you are very sincere about Kramers responsibility to the public. It is just not entertainment. I also commend Jim Cramer for meeting you on your show. He knew that he was going to get admonished by you. Both of you showed loads of class dealing with a very serious issue, which we are all angered by. Too bad more people can’t talk with civility like your did on your show. Great Work. I write about this as a loss, just another kind of grief and loss, only it is of our money, and some people life savings. Dr. Diane R. Isaacs, ph.d
