“American Idol” David Hernandez, who made headlines for being a gay stripper last year, says his sexual orientation was what got him voted off the show: “It wasn’t the stripper thing. It was the gay thing. That’s Middle America for you.”
David also reveals to be friends with and to know our favorite contestant Adam Lambert from “the scene.” Some compromising photos of Adam dressed in drag and kissing a guy hit the web (photos here>>) but Adam refuses to talk about the subject.

American Idol is a talent contest, Adam is the best performer. I don’t care about his sexual orientation, I don’t plan on sleeping with him.
Since the first week, Adam has been a strong performer, and all around entertainer. I am tired of the dirt being thrown at him. Some of the Greatest entertainers are or have been gay, Clay Aiken for one, and another, The Flamboyant but amazing Liberace. Rock Hudson, the fabulous actor and even a sex symbol. Ellen Degeneras, a very popular talk show. This is just some, there are many others. Who or What they are in their private lives has absolutley nothing to do with their ability to entertain. Adam Lambert will be a star, He is a star. What goes on in his private life is none of our business, any more than our sexual choices are anyone elses business
