Tonight’s theme on American Idol is ‘Disco Night’ and it should be ripe for Adam Lambert to hit it out of the park.  Here are my live thoughts about each contestant as the night unfolds.

Lil Rounds – ‘I’m Every Woman’ – The Memphis native started with Chaka Khan’s disco hit.  For the fifth straight week Lil’s hair has grown several inches from the week before.  She is out tonight with a lot of funk and attitude, which should serve her well with the judges.  Lil is better than she has been in recent weeks and seemed in control of the performance, but I don’t think it was enough to get her through to next week.  Grade: B-

Kris Allen – ‘She Works Hard For the Money’ – An acoustic touch to Donna Summer’s 70′s hit by Kris.  He will get points for being original tonight, but I am not sure how well he will measure up against the favorites tonight.  Kris was able to transform a disco song until an acoustic tune, but I just think something was missing from it tonight.  It was very unique and Kris is still on path to a finals showdown with Adam.  Grade: B+

Danny Gokey – ‘Dancing in September’ – DG is always good if not great, but almost always near the same, which will likely hurt him.  He has the most soul of any contestant in the contest.  Gokey brought it on disco night and in my opinion is one of the three best contestants.  Danny is the sentimental favorite for most of America, but still a huge underdog to Lambert.  He is a bit goofy, but not any goofier than previous winners.  Grade: A-

Allison Iraheta – ‘Hot Stuff’ – Another song from Donna Summer.  Wow, she came out all sexified and spandexified tonight.  Kinda reminded me of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Funky Space Reincarnation.’  Allison has such great star potential and is going to be a very famous musician for a long time regardless if she wins AI or not.  It might actually be in her favor not to win.  When you compare her to Lil Rounds, the difference is night and day.  Iraheta was pretty amazing tonight, not perfect, but pretty darn amazing!  Grade: A

Adam Lambert – ‘If I Can’t Have You’ – I am not a fan of Adam, but he is the most diverse singer in the contest.  He is trained and well practiced, but if they allow that in the competition, as they have, then he should probably have the best shot at winning.  He is strong once again tonight, but a bit whiney.  Paula has already sold her soul to this guy, as she melts and cries every single time he performs.  Adam is the one to beat and to be very honest, that is going to be a very tough chore for Kris, Danny, or Allison.  It is kind of hard to catch a frontrunner when they never slip up.  Grade: A+

Matt Giraud – ‘Staying Alive’ – Matt is back and came out on fire tonight with his Bee Gees tune.  He didn’t seem to improve as the performance went on. He seemed to be grunting and moaning more than Master P on one of his dud albums.  Matt brought a lot of energy, but he seemed to lose focus as he got caught up with the crowd and the song.  He will very likely be in the bottom three once again.  Grade: B-

Anoop Desai – ‘Dim All The Lights’ – Anoop’s swan song tonight, and he is going out with yet another Donna Summer song.  Was she the only disco singer?  I didn’t think so, but oh well, she will at least get a bump in her residual check this month.  Anoop is so boring and dull tonight.  His song title is very appropriate for this his final performance.  It will be a miracle if Anoop is back for another week.  With two contestants going home, the lights will be dimmed for Anoop.  Very unmemorable, boring, and blah boo!!  Grade: D+

I guess this is good news since it means Rihanna is not thinking about getting back to her abuser. Actress/model Jenna Dewan attended the premiere of her new movie “Fighting” at the Regal Union Square Stadium 14 in New York yesterday (April 20). The beautiful 28 year-old revealed she is planning her wedding with “Step Up” co-star Channing Tatum.

Jenna said: “We’re so busy, and you know when you’re so busy, wedding planning is so hard to do. But it will be soon. Sooner than later. I seriously haven’t even thought about it. I’m the worst bride in the world. I’m just so happy, and I’m so enjoying being engaged. I don’t want to rush anything.”

Jenna joked about her huge engagement ring, saying it attracts a lot of attention: “Almost everybody goes, ‘Oh my God, that is so big.’ And I’m like, ‘I know, I feel the same way.’” I bet she loves the attention! I would also want to show off my huge ring and gorgeous man!

Miss California Carrie Prejean, who caused controversy for speaking her mind on gay marriage (video here), stands by her beliefs and is not going to apologize. Carrie could have given the politically correct answer, she didn’t and she think it cost her the Miss USA 2009 crown.

“It did cost me my crown,” Prejean told Billy Bush of Access Hollywood and The Billy Bush Show on satellite radio show Monday. “I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I said what I feel. I stated an opinion that was true to myself and that’s all I can do.”

“It is a very touchy subject and [Hilton] is a homosexual and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would’ve wanted me to be more politically correct,” she added. “But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything.”

When confronted with clips of Perez Hilton’s very public attacks on MSNBC’s 9 AM hour Tuesday, Carrie declares she feels sorry for the celebrity blogger.

“I can only say to him that I will be praying for him. I feel sorry for him, I really do,” Prejean said. “I think he’s angry, I think he’s hurt. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. He asked me specifically what my opinion was on that subject and I gave him an honest answer.”

Whether we agree or not with Miss California’s view on the subject, we have to give her props for having her own opinions and beliefs and express them honestly. Our friends at College Candy point out Perez as a hypocrite.

Perez: YOU’RE allowed to hate on everyone in Hollywood every single day on your site for the simple reason of making some money, but because this girl has religious beliefs that go against your own, she’s all of a sudden the bad guy? Yes, it is OK to disagree with her, but she is not a bitch for having an opinion, especially one based on her religious beliefs.

Ditto! Perez seems to have taken this pretty personally. Maybe it’s time for him to think about all the celebs he has hurt by his hateful remarks over the past years!

Big Brother host Julie Chen made a very special announcement on CBS’ “The Early Show” on Tuesday morning. Julie is expecting her first child with her husband, CBS Corporation President And CEO, Leslie Moonves.

“I am expecting my first child.”

Rubbing her tummy, Chen continued, “So it wasn’t a big Sunday at the buffet table. I’m starting to show now! And my due date is Oct. 4. So, fingers crossed, and … I’m not taking maternity leave from (the CBS show) “Big Brother,” which she hosts. “I e-mailed my boss over there this weekend and I said, ‘Don’t worry. I can still do the show!” ‘

An US Weekly article suggests reality star Kim Kardashian is a fan of Forever 21 and their new line of clothes, Faith 21, designed for plus-sized women. “It’s for a curvier girl that loves fashion,” marketing manager Linda Chang told US.

If I was Kim I would also be offended by this brand using my image to sell clothes, but they did just call her fat!! Curvy is sexy and Kim is not fat! Kim quickly responded via her blog:

“I am a huge fan of Forever 21 and I’m very happy they have expanded their line to include a plus-size range, but I am not in that size category and this article makes it sound like I am! I am a curvy girl and I love my curves, but curvy and plus-sized are two very different things. I work really hard to maintain my curves while staying slim and healthy, so to be classed as a “fuller-figured woman” of extra large proportions is a little offensive.

For the record, I am a size 2, not 2XL.”

Philip Markoff, a 22 year-old medical student, had been arrested by Boston Police on suspicion of being the “Craigslist Killer.” The cops had been following Philip after he was identified as the man in the footage taken near the crime scenes and released in an appeal for help.

Philip will be charged in Boston Municipal Court with the murder of masseuse Julissa Brisman, who was shot in a Boston hotel last Tuesday, but he is also believed to be involved kidnapping and robbery of at least two other escorts who advertised their services on Craigslist.

“He is a predator,” said Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. “There may be other victims out there, and we want to help you.”

Philip is engaged to be married with a fellow med student, Megan McAllister, and the couple has a web page dedicated to their wedding later this year.

The winner of the famous VH1’s dating show “For The Love of Ray J” was Joanna Hernandez aka Cocktail, a part-time cocktail waitress. Cocktail beat her competition: Monica Leon aka “Danger” and Danielle Pastorino aka “Unique” ; and took Ray J home to meet her family.

Ray J and Cocktail are currently happily dating but Cocktail confesses: “Yeah. He’s my boyfriend, and the fact that I’m not seeing my boyfriend as much as I’d like to is different from what I’m used to. I would love to see him every day and have him come home to me every night. But that’s not what it is, and I have to take it for what it is. I’m patiently learning his lifestyle. I expected this, but I’m sad now that I’m going through it. But it just makes the times I see him even more special.”
