YouTube Sensation Susan Boyle’s got competition on Britain’s Got Talent!! Shaheen Jafargholi, who is just 12 years old, started with a version of “Valerie” from the Zutons and recently covered by Amy Winehouse that didn’t please Sir Simon Cowell.
Simon halted Shaheen’s performance to ask him if he didn’t have anything else to sing. The Welsh young singer offered to sing “Who’s Loving You,” written by Smokey Robinson and performed by a young Michael Jackson with the Jackson Five, which got a standing ovation from the audience and judges. I guess it will be tough competition for Susan Boyle… who do you think is going to win “Britain’s Got Talent”??
The 14 year-old Adelle Geniella, who got her coach Carlie Beck fired, is the angry cheerleader that had been banned from Casa Roble cheerleading tryouts for having more than three unexcused absences.
Adelle and her parents, Scott and Heather Geniella, were on the Today Show to talk about why they decided to go public with Carlie Christine’s nude Playboy photos (photos here).
“When I found out about it, I definitely lost respect,” Adelle told Matt Lauer. “That’s not where my morals stand.”
“This is a leader of young women,” dad Scott said. “They want to hold the children to a very high standard. These cheerleaders are not allowed to have racy pictures on MySpace, there’s a lot of things they’re not able to do, or shouldn’t.”
“When Adelle was not able to try out because she was absent one day of school that I failed to excuse, that took away from the fact that she’s an excellent student, she hasn’t cut a day of school in her life,” Heather Geniella said. “And when they say, ‘Well, we’re trying to set the standards very high for these girls,’ that upset Adelle,” the mother added.
“She said, ‘Mom, there are rumors that she has been on the Internet naked.’ So she was upset at the double standard, that [Beck] is good enough to be in a leadership position.”
If these parents weren’t so angry because their daughter wasn’t able to get in the cheerleader team, the world would have never heard about or seen Carlie naked. That sounds like double standards to me too!

Stephanie Parker was found dead in Pontypridd, South Wales, on Saturday (April 18). Apparently the young actress committed suicide by hanging just a couple of days after the last episode of the her TV show “Belonging” was aired. Stephanie had played Bellonging’s ‘Stacey Weaver’ since she was 15 years old.

Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and her husband/music producer Chris Ivery are finally expecting their first child together. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2007 and the actress had recently said they were enjoying married life the best they could.
“We enjoy our life so much,” Pompeo said in the October 2008 issue. “We go to Europe and sleep in. So when I have the baby, I won’t feel like we’ve missed any fun, reckless times together, like staying up all night drinking champagne and having sex until five in the morning and not having to get up until two in the afternoon. But I’ve got to get on it, because the clock is ticking.”

The first runner-up Miss California USA Carrie Prejean of San Diego was involved in controversy last night at the Miss USA 2009 pageant, when she had to answer a question about same-sex marriages by one of the judges, famous celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.
Perez Hilton: “Vermont recently became the 4th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?”
Carrie Prejean: “Well I think its great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be between a man and a woman. Thank you very much.”
This was charged question but it could have been answered gracefully (“I wish for World peace!”) without causing all this controversy. For the first time in pageant history, a Miss USA contestant was booed by the audience and called a “dumb b*tch” by Perez – congratulations to Carrie Prejean!!

Beautiful Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton was crowned Miss USA 2009 at Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Sunday (April 19). The first runner-up was Miss California USA Carrie Prejean of San Diego and the second runner-up was Miss Arizona USA Alicia-Monique Blanco of Phoenix.
“It feels really natural,” Dalton said of her win. “I’ve worked so be here and this has been my lifelong dream and it’s finally here. And whoever knew you could win in a turquoise gown?”
The 21 year-old Kristen is an aspiring motivational speaker and entertainer from Wilmington, and comes from a family with a pageant tradition: her mother was Miss North Carolina USA 1982 and her sister was Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2008.

Geriatric popstar Madonna fell off her horse earlier today and suffered minor bruises and injuries according to RyanSeacrest.com
The accident occured when the horse Madonna was riding was startled by papparazzi who jumped out ot the bushes to photograph the singer who was visiting friends on Eastern, Long Island over the weekend.
No word just yet if all the king’s horses and all the king’s men have been called to put Madonna together again.
Madonna was admitted to Southampton hospital but has since been released. She will continue to undergo testing.
