Danielle Staub, a 45 year-old mother-of-two, is the most controversial housewife of the brand new reality series “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” Danielle is trying to enjoy the single life and raise her two daughters, Christine and Jillian, after her husband left her. She is bold, sensual and confident.
“I’m not the most gorgeous woman in the world, but I’m kinda hot,” Danielle said. “I might just be the ultimate threat. I think I’m just a really secure woman, and sometimes, people are less than enthusiastic about having me around.”
In just two episodes, Danielle has already confessed to have phone sex with a complete stranger for two years, offered a blow job to another guy at a restaurant and quickly became frenemies with other housewives.
Caroline Manzo, another housewife, wants to find more information on Danielle’s secret past and learns that she, and possibly her mug shot, is featured in the now out-of-print “Cop Without a Badge

I think New Jersey is the BEST of all the Housewives series, with New York second. The worst is OC! I am from the southside of Chicago and was relocated to the OC for a few years and those women are as shallow,phony, as you see on TV. Blithering idiots who didn’t quite look human anymore and even if they were broke, they simply had to drive a Mercedes to keep up appearances.
You can be attractive and wealthy without being pretentious, shallow, and indolent.

Danielle being a former paid escort, stripper, blackmailing rat is perfect casting. And then throwing her in the mix with these gold digging wannabes pigs is just perfect casting. Jacqueline seems to be the only normal one only because she seems so naive. What a bunch of hot messes. I LOVE IT!!
I think that this show is not as good as the others. I am from Jersey and I think like alot of you that the relations thing is not good. I also think that they need to back off and remember that none of them are perfect and everyone has done things that they are not too proud of. I cant stand people who have to judge others like they are so perfect. Give me a break. Danielle made some mistake a long time ago. Caroline should have questioned her alone, and took it from there. Not spread it all over. She needs to get over herself. And Gina needs a real reality check. She of all of them, seems to think she is so entitled. New York, as sad as I am to say this, is the best show of them all.
When I was a kid growing up in South Carolina, I remember a Jersey family moving into our neighborhood. My father was compleatly upset by this. I never realy understood why, until I saw this show.

All I can say is that Bravo for Danielle’s ex husband…looks like this book may come back into reprint. He is going to make a small fortune…unless this book is in print on the web. Danielle does not deserve the treatment she has gotten. I certainly hope this is all a set up for the show ratings…I would hate to think that there a such vendictive women out there that think they are classy. Danielle…you have my support!!
I have not really liked Dannielle, until tonight (That’s not to say I have liked the others any better. Except Jacquelin…she is the only one who has acted like she has any class). I thought Danielle had BALLS to confront the sisters like she did. And the sisters…who are they? I would be embarrassed to act like them. It is a good thing what’s her name quit the event business…because after this show her business would have gone in the toilet. Tereasa is the worst kind of stage mother. I love the NJ girls. OC girls are shallow and fake, fake, fake. They act like a bunch of high school wannabes. Tamara cant stand the fact she is getting older. All they do is drink. Funny it never shows them going to Church or praying…..maybe thats why their lives are such a mess. NY hw, all they care about is how they look to other people and their prestige. I think the Washington hw will show what real class is. Money cant buy happiness….it just covers up the sadness.

All of the “real” housewives series are a joke. The only thing that show does is magnify a very small segment of the population and displays them at their very worse. There is nothing real about any of these women. In fact, the show should be called the “unrealistic” housewives…or the “real obnoxious” housewives. If Bravo wants something real, then have a show which depicts women who are middle class working moms who deal with the stresses that occur in everyday life. These other “real” housewives live in fantasy land.

How hot to trot were YOU when you were young? Whether or not you were the one who exposed the book is irrelevant. I personally think you didn’t have the time or smarts to do it. CAROLINE - Like I said above…I think YOU have more time than you know what to do with and you just might have been the one who did some research about “the book”. Danielle may just have to rethink her acqusations. You seem to be a real person and I liked you on the show. However, I think you’ve got TOO strong a hold on your family and they’re old enough to decide who comes into their life or who doesn’t. Let them decide for themselves and make their own decisions and mistakes. I’m Italian also and my dad’s side is from Brooklyn. Great people. Mom’s side is from the Philly area. THEY were too clingy within the family and too opinionated. I’m a little older than you (mid 50’s) so take my advice. Be “as thick as thieves” with your family….but give them a little breathing room. Your kids are very good looking by the way.

JACQUELINE - YOU’VE got class. You’re beautiful. You’re smart. And, you’ve got it together. You be your own judge in choosing friends. Danielle has been a good friend to you. What’s happened in her life before, or going on in her life now is her business. If it didn’t or doesn’t concern you, stay out of it. She’s made mistakes. Haven’t we all. I’m sure she’s learned from them. Watch out for Dina. She’s two-faced and too judgemental. And, Theresa? She’s a psycho bitch! Watch out she doesn’t snap out on you one day!
DANIELLE - I really liked you and your girls. WhatEVER “the book” said about you happened 25 years ago. Only YOU know the truth and have to live with it. Would I have turned my back on you after finding out about it. Absolutely not. I would have come to you to ask you to level with me about it if you were my true friend. I’m sure that you were a very impressionable naieve girl back then in the wrong place at the wrong time. Would I have presented “the book” at the dinner? Probably not. But, what I would have done was get the girls together and bring it out in the open to them only. Your friend Tom is a good person by sticking by you.

I am an italian born and raised in northern new jersey also. I have to say that I do not appreciate the depiction of italian women in New Jersey as BravoTV has presented us. We are not all living off our husbands’ good fortune, spending tons of money on a pretentious address and NOT working ourselves to help our families.
The italian women from New Jersey love their children, cook, make room for their husbands and actually have REAL friends who do the same! We even have many non-italian friends and family also!
No, I’m not proud to be represented by these plastic and shallow people. Danielle seems to get under their skins, however in my opinion she’s the only one that’s real.
Change the cast of characters and maybe I’ll watch again.

I don’t think they said all Italian women in Jersey live off their men. This is what the show is about. The title is sort of a clue “Real HOUSEWIVES of New Jersey”. The only woman who didn’t seem to care about her children wasn’t Italian, but some whore from Brooklyn.
If Danielle didn’t want her business discussed, past or present, why would she choose to be on television. She should have known it was going to come out.
I like this particular series….real funny. Teresa and Jacqueline were my favs. I do think the ladies spent a little too much time and energy hating Danielle. Everyone has a past, it makes us who we are. Its what you learn from your mistakes that matters.
The reason why they are so close-knit and scrutinize anyone that enter their world is because, maybe, they really do have mob ties. Who pays that kind of money in “cash”? Teresa’s quote was “I heard that the economy is crashing so I pay for everything in cash” LOL! yeah, right.

I’m a southern bell, born and raised in Virginia, and extremely middle class in terms of money. The one word that comes to mind when watching all of these “housewives” shows is “nouveau riche”, meaning “new to money”. I can only think of a few out of all of them that have even a touch of class. They should re-name the series to “Nouveau Riche, Classless Women of XXXX” - insert the city in place of the X’s.
Truly classy, wealthy persons do not go around flaunting their wealth. They exercise judgment and restraint in how they spend their money. They mind their own business and treat eveyone with the same respect and diginity that they want afforded to themselves. Furthermore, you don’t have to be financially wealthy to have class - anyone, regardless of their finances, can be classy.
I found it extremely ironic that Theresa would call herself classy, given the display of her behavior at “the dinner”. Caroline is classic “Jersey” tough - she is the embodiment of what I would describe as the typical northerner. Her sister, Dina, is bratty. Jackie is the only one of the bunch that truly displays class. And as for Danielle, she is clearly “damaged goods” that had an unfortunate upbringing. She needs to get herself into therapy - and fast! My heart goes out to her and her children.
There’s my two cents on all of this.
The one part of the entire season that really got me mad,and nobody seems to have noticed……was when Dina was going to get her hair done, and she pulled into the handicap parking spot as if it was a sign saying Dina’s spot,do not par here….after that I knew exactly who was real and who was stuck on herself.
I LOVE the Jersey housewives. Except Danielle. They are my favorite. I Hate the Orange County wives the most. Tamara is so freakin jealous of all other women and she is ugly!!!
During the Interview with the Real Houswives of New Jersey, when they started to talk about Caroline’s family accused of being in the mob, and by that point eveybody had a say in it, but teresa just sat there very quietly, and did not say a word. Plus, Where did they get all of that cash??? I know that Teresa’s husband works as a Builder or a construction guy or something like that, and he is home like all the time! But still, He wouldn’t be able to afford that huge mansion that they live in. If he did make all that money from owning a construction buisness he wouldn’t be home so often. What is up? Is Teresa’s husband in the mob???
I love how everybody thinks that the NJ housewives’ families are in the MOB. First off, if they were in the mob everyone in Bravo history would find out within a second. Not to mention, do you honestly think they would put themselves on a show like this risking something like that to be found out? It’s seriously stereo-typing that this world has come to, Jersey is not all about the mafia. Oh, and P.S. Teresa admitted in US Weekly magazine that she didn’t really spend $200,000 furniture shopping ..its to lure the viewers into watching the show, however her mansion does exist because now its known in Jersey.
