NBA star Wayman Tisdale, who had part of his right leg amputated last year, lost his battle with bone cancer and died this Friday morning at the age of 44. Wayman played college and pro basketball for 20 years he had also become an accomplished musician.

R&B newcomer Chrisette Michele has the #1 album on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart this week with her debut album, ‘Epiphany.’
Other newcomers to the top 10 this week included Ben Harper with White Lies in Dark Times and Ciara with Fantasy Ride.

We were left with more questions than answers after a tear jerking two hour Grey’s Anatomy fifth season finale on Thursday (May 15). Just when we thought both Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) and George O’Malley (T.R. Knight) have finally found their happy endings, everything changes and they are standing on the thin line between life and death.
Izzie’s brain rumor was removed. She survived but has short-term memory loss. Alex comes to her rescue and challenges her to hang on to her memories then she loses consciousness. While George became an Army doctor and shows up at Seattle Grace as a John Doe, who had jumped in front of a bus to save a woman’s life. That’s when Izzie and George finally meet in the elevator!!

Golf might have just become less yawning with the arrival of sexy Maria Verchenova! Maria is a young player from Russia who wants to just as good and determined in golf as Maria Sharapova is playing tennis.
“I am looking at Maria, not because of the way she looks but because of the way she plays,” Verchenova explains. “I think Russian women are strong mentally. They are trying really hard and they are achieving things.”
Maria is a full-time member of the Ladies European Tour and has played against golf champion Anna Sorenstam at the 2008 Dubai Ladies Masters. I’m sure we will hear about Maria in the future and not just because she is gorgeous but also talented.

Michael Jordan’s girlfriend Yvette Prieto, a 30 year-old Cuban model, is pregnant, according to MediaTakeOut. Michael already has two sons and a daughter from his first marriage.

Michael divorced his wife of seventeen years, Juanita Vanoy, back in 2006 and has been dating Yvette since July, 2008. The happy couple bought a house in Miami earlier this year and they are also rumored to be getting married soon.

Comedian/actress Wanda Sykes and her wife Alex Sykes welcomed twins, a boy and a girl, on April 27. The mothers are already at home enjoying their babies: “All are happy and healthy and at home,” Sykes’ rep told Us Wednesday.
The twins are named Olivia Lou (6 lbs., 7 oz ) and Lucas Claude (7 lbs., 9 oz). The 45 year-old “New Adventures of Old Christine” star and Alex were married on October, 2008 in California. Congratulations to Wanda and Alex!

Some of the best stories of my life I have either heard or have taken place at a Waffle House. Now comes word that Yakeisha Ward, a Waffle House waitress in Clarendon County, South Carolina, is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill Crystal Samuels, who was a customer at the local Waffle House and set off Ward by throwing a waffle at her during the dispute.
“I said what is your fuss about. I said we haven’t paid for our food. She (Ward) said well you all got to leave. How you want us to leave and we ain’t paid for the food yet,” says Samuel.
That’s when it got ugly. Samuel says she threw a waffle at the waitress. “I did actually throw some food but it didn’t hit her,” says Samuel. “That’s when she (Ward) jumped across the counter and we got into it,” says Samuel.
Clarendon County Sheriff Randy Garrett says the altercation continued outside where he says Ward got a gun from her car and a gun magazine from her trunk.
“It’s poor judgment on her part trying to settle this matter with a weapon. either way she had time to think about what she was doing when she was walking to her car,” says Garrett.
Investigators say Ward’s gun discharged during the altercation. They say a bullet fragment struck Samuel in the arm.
The best part of the story is that Ward has been working at Waffle House since the incident. The victim, with a sense of humor, simply said that the Waffle House had “bad customer service.”
I once had a very unattractive Waffle House waitress tell me how she stripped for money once she was off work and that she usually took home nearly $1,000 a night. I could not believe it based on the product she was putting out there for consumption.
On another occasion in Plaquemine, Louisiana, while studying for law school finals, a Waffle House waitress was flirting with me and sitting down talking to me, when the cook got jealous and came over and sat in my lap. The waitress and cook came close to exchanging blows.
I studied at that Waffle House in Plaquemine many times over the course of three years and I think they charged me just one time for food.
The 19 year-old Jordin Sparks (winner of season 6) returns to the American Idol stage all grown-up and sexy to perform her new single “Battlefield” on Wednesday’s (May 13) results show.
