American Idol judge Paula Abdul opens up about the addiction to pain killers that she has been fighting for the past twelve years in a new interview for Ladies’ Home Journal Magazine.

Last Thanksgiving, Paula finally decided to check herself into La Costa Resort and Spa, in Carlsbad, California, in order to overcome this addiction. Paula happily announced she is clean and feeling better than ever.

Paula says: “I could have killed myself. Withdrawal—it’s the worst thing. I was freezing cold, then sweating hot, then chattering and in so much pain, it was excruciating. But at my very core, I did not like existing the way I had been.”

Paula admits to have become addicted to pain meds after an unlucky series of accidents, which include a car crash and plane crash that left her partially paralyzed, requiring 15 spinal surgeries. Now Paula turns to her friends and family, yoga and spiritual workshops to make her feel better.

Connie Culp, the first woman to get a total face transplant in the United States, has finally revealed her identity and what happened to her in a press conference at the Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday.

Connie was shot in the face by her husband back in 2004, which left her severely disfigured. Her husband then turned the gun on himself but survived and was sentenced to only seven years in prison.

Culp said: “When somebody has a disfigurement and don’t look as pretty as you do, don’t judge them, because you never know what happened to them. Don’t judge people who don’t look the same as you do. Because you never know. One day it might be all taken away.”

Once while shopping, “she heard a little kid say, `You said there were no real monsters, mommy, and there’s one right there,’” Coffman said. Culp stopped and said, “I’m not a monster. I’m a person who was shot,” and pulled out her driver’s license to show the child what she used to look like, the psychiatrist said.

The 46 year-old mother of two endured a procedure in December that lasted 22 hours in which 80 percent of her face was transplanted using facial tissue from a dead woman at the Cleveland Clinic in the state of Ohio.

“I guess I’m the one you came to see today,” the 46-year-old Ohio woman said. But “I think it’s more important that you focus on the donor family that made it so I could have this person’s face.”

Before the transplant, Connie couldn’t eat or breathe without a tube in her windpipe. The results are amazing and Connie can now enjoy an almost normal life, however she is still recovering and will probably have to go under the knife again.

Comedic actor/producer/director/chef Dom DeLuise died at the age of 75 in his sleep around 6 p.m. on May 4, 2009 at a hospital in Los Angeles, California. Dom, who starred in classics as “The Cannonball Run” and “Blazing Saddles”, had been hospitalized for some time suffering from a long undisclosed illness.

Miss California Carrie Prejean released a statement defending the recent semi-nude photo leak (photos here). The excuse I’m a model, so I have to model in lingerie and swimwear would be acceptable if Carrie hadn’t signed a Miss USA pageant contract with a small clause prohibiting her from being photographed in a state of partial or total nudity.

Do you think someone is trying to degrade Carrie Prejean’s image just because of her views on gay marriage and religious beliefs? I think Carrie certainly has double standards when it comes to certain matters but she admitted it herself: “I’m not perfect!”

New country star Jessica Simpson covers the latest issue of Vanity Fair Magazine (June 2009). We have no idea what Jessica is trying to promote or sell in this new photo shoot for the magazine but the headline “You Call This Fat?” is pretty amusing. If Jessica is trying to prove she is back in shape, maybe she shouldn’t be so airbrushed…

In the interview, the 28 year-old talks about her ex-husband Nick Lachey, her boyfriend Tony Romo, faith and being in the public eye. Here are some highlights from Jessica Simpson’s Vanity Fair interview:

On Nick and if the show Newlyweds ruined their marriage: “I have not spoken to him in years. [As for the show,] in all honesty, I believe it did not affect our marriage. Because we enjoyed watching those episodes, and that will always be a time I cherish. It made me understand what marriage is, what love is, what commitment is.”

On whether Tom has watched Newlyweds: “A couple episodes. He thought I was cute.”

On media criticism: “When it comes to media criticism, that’s just something I have had to train myself–literally train myself–to ignore…. I mean, the way people make it sound, I should have never been singing in the first place…. It comes with what I do, and I know that every day the media’s going to challenge me, is going to want to bring me down. But I feel like I’m at such a place that I own myself, and it’s authentic. I own that authentic part of myself, and none of those words are harsh enough to make me believe them…. I can’t imagine saying some of the things people have said about me about anybody else.”

On her thoughts for marriage: “It was what we all wanted. Go to college, get married, and have babies. It was my way of thinking. At 16, every boyfriend I had I was going to marry.”

On watching football games with other Cowboy wives: “It’s a nurturing place to be, around people who love their husbands, but it gives me anxiety to watch with them.”

On her faith: “I’m spiritual. I live off the faith that has been instilled in me, that has never left. I’ve never let a stumbling block actually make me fall…. We all go through trials, but not one thing has ever made me question God. I have a great relationship with God. I can talk to him, get mad at him, frustrated with him. But, ultimately, my faith is what defines me.”

Actor Shia LaBeouf makes some surprising revelations in an interview for the latest issue of Playboy Magazine. He definitely chose the right place to tell all about his hippie upbringing, which included a lot of nudity, and how he used to smoke pot with his parents.

“I grew up with a bunch of hippies, and marijuana was always around,” he says. “Pot was never looked at as a negative thing. I could smoke it on holidays with my parents, and we were all good. I like pot. It has never been a monster for me. I can put limits on it. But I definitely saw from a very young age what drugs can do to you.”

“The nudity was weird, especially when her friends came over,” he tells Playboy in their June issue. “All of them would just be naked around the house. That was strange for me, and it was really bizarre when my friends were there. You’ve got your little buds over, and Mom’s, like, playing naked connect the dots or whatever. She’s in the middle of goddess-group time, where it’s literally a bunch of naked women tracing auras around one another’s bodies with incense and then sitting together and humming for prolonged periods of time.”

When asked about who he thought was the sexiest woman alive instead of saying “Megan Fox”, the “Transformers” star just said is mom Shayna Saide deserves the sexiest title.

Shia said: “Probably the sexiest woman I know is my mother. She’s an ethereal angel. Nobody looks like that woman. If I could meet my mother and marry her, I would. I would be with my mother now, if she weren’t my mother, as sick as that sounds.”

I’m not sure if I find this quote absolutely adorable or just way too creepy! Not to mention the fact I would prefer to have never imagined how his mom must look naked! Not a pretty image!

Reality daddy Jon Gosselin of TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8” was recently caught out with another woman and no wedding ring but the rumors Jon and Kate’s relationship is slowly deteriorating are old.

The dad-of-eight (twins Madelyn and Cara, 8, and 5-year-old sextuplets, Aaden, Joel, Collin, Hannah, Leah and Alexis) denies any affair and explains the unknown female is just a friend. Meanwhile his wife Kate was miles away promoting her book “Eight Little Faces.”

“I went to Legends to speak to the owner. A friend of mine wanted to check out my car, so I let her drive it to her car,” Jon says. “Yes, I have female friends — but that is all she is. I’m not going to end my friendships just because I’m on TV.”

Kate Gosselin’s “bossy” behavior and the rift being created between her and husband Jon is visible on the reality show. The tension has been building up and fans are not surprised if the couple finally files for divorce.

During Britney Spears’ encore performance of “Womanizer” at the Circus tour stop in Conneticut, a crazy, completely wasted fan jumped on stage and tried to dance with the troubled popstar. You can see in the video above around the 2:15 mark, Britney was completely scared and screaming for help… too bad her mic wasn’t on!!

Britney’s back-up dancers and security quickly threw the 20 year-old Kyle King off stage and he was promptly arrested but already released this morning on $250 bail.
