A 3 year-old boy Briant Rodriguez was kidnapped by two men carrying handguns, one estimated to be 18 years old, the other 24, who broke into his family’s San Bernardino home, tied up his mother and four siblings.

The California Highway Patrol finally issued an Amber Alert on Sunday for Briant Rodriguez:

Briant is a Hispanic boy 3 feet tall and weighs 40 pounds, with brown eyes and long, curly brown hair. He was wearing a yellow shirt, blue-striped shorts and black sandals when he was taken.

American Idol David Cook announced his brother Adam Cook, who had been fighting a brain cancer for over a decade, died at the 12th Annual Race for Hope on Sunday (May 3).

“I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now,” Cook told the crowd at the benefit for brain cancer research (watch video below). “I lost one today,” addressing all the runners, supporters and organizers, “but I gained 9,000 [friends] and I will be here every year that they will have me.”

Adam was a big inspiration for the “idol” and died at 37 years-old. Simon Cowell offered his condolences to the family: “I was incredibly saddened to hear the news. I met Adam Cook a few times at American Idol. He was an incredible guy, and right now my thoughts are with David and his family.” Our thoughts and prayers go to the family!

Comedian Robert Schimmel, who has appeared on Howard Stern’s show various times, was arrested for domestic violence on Saturday morning (May 2). Cops were called to his home and observed physical marks on his wife, Melissa Schimmel, that led to his arrest on a $50,000 bail.

Australian tennis player Jelena Dokic revealed to be a victim of physical abuse perpetrated by her own father, Damir Dokic, in an interview for Sport & Style.

The 26 year-old player, who was born in Osijek, Croatia, to a Serbian father and a Croatian mother, Ljiljana, went through years of abuse before she finally escaped in 2002.

Jelena says: “I’ve been through a lot worse than anybody on the tour. I can say that with confidence.”

“When you go through stuff like that, playing a tennis match is a pretty easy thing to do. When I win today it’s so much more satisfying,” Dokic was quoted as saying in the article.

Jelena confessed her boyfriend Tin Bikic helped her recover and she has finally come to terms what she has been through: “Whatever has happened, good or bad, will always stay there. It makes you what you are,” Dokic said.

David Hasselhoff’s 16 year-old daughter Hayley found her dad unconscious on the floor of his home in California, immediately called her mom Pamela Bach, who then drove him to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical center on Saturday, according to RadarOnline.

A source said a frightened Hayley kept “slapping her dad’s face” to keep him alive. “He was barely breathing when they got him at the hospital.

“He’s recovering. Pam was his bedside till 4a.m. this morning. This is about the 7th time he’s been taken to a hospital over the last few years with alcohol poisoning. How many visits will it take before he dies?”

Reportedly David had been hospitalized before due to alcohol poisoning. David Hasselhoff’s lawyer denies this story and threatens to take his ex-wife to court. Pamela was “in violation of the court’s order precluding contacting the media regarding her ex husband.”

According to TMZ, David was celebrating his father’s 80th birthday with his girlfriend Kimberly, he got drunk but he is recovery at home.

Former NFL player and long-time Republican politician Jack Kemp has passed away at the age of 73 from a battle with cancer.

Kemp served several terms in Congress before running as Bob Dole’s running mate in 1996.

Kemp, a former quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, represented western New York for nine terms in Congress, leaving the House for an unsuccessful presidential bid in 1988.

Eight years later, after serving a term as President George H.W. Bush’s housing secretary, he made it onto the national ticket as Bob Dole’s running-mate.

Kemp was a 17th round pick of the Detroit Lions in 1957. He was cut and battled his way back into the league with the Buffalo Bills where he made his name as a star quarterback.

Kemp led Buffalo to the 1964 and 1965 AFL Championships, and won the league’s most valuable player award in 1965. He co-founded the AFL Players Association in 1964 and was elected president of the union for five terms. When he retired from football in 1969, Kemp had enough support in blue-collar Buffalo and its suburbs to win an open congressional seat.

Kemp is survived by his wife Joanne, four children, and seventeen grandchildren.

And now it’s time for the main event between Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao for the junior welterweight title.  Hatton is from England whilie Pacquiao hails from the Phillipines.

Round 1: Hatton comes out as the aggressor before Pacquiao gets off the ropes and lands of flurry of punches.  Pac finally lands one that sends Hatton down onto the mat.  He beats the count but by the looks of it, this won’t last long into the night.  Pac lands two more strong rights to send Hatton the tha mat once again. But he gets up!  Pacquiao 10-7

Round 2: Hatton starts by landing a couple of punches, much like he did in round one, before Pac responds and dizzies Hatton once again.  Hatton is looking weak and weak legged. He keeps holding onto Pac to save himself.  Pacquiao knocked Hatton out cold as the bell sounded to end the round and the fight with a nasty left.

The surprising winner of the 135th running of the Kentucky Derby is “Mine That Bird” (50-1 shot). Mine That Bird, an unheralded colt from New Mexico, covered the one and one-quarter miles in 2:02.66 and paid $103.20 to win.

The top three finishers were Mine that Bird, Pioneer of the Nile and Musket Man. The favorite to win Friesan Fire only finished in 18th.
