John Mayer Trio ‘California Dreamin’ On The Tonight Show (Video)
Singer/songwriter John Mayer reunited with his former band “John Mayer Trio” and they performed “California Dreamin” on “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien” on Thursday (June 4). The performance of this song by the trio is featured on the DVD version of the “Where the Light is”.
Before becoming a successful solo artist, John Mayer was the songwriter, singer and guitarist of the band that released their first album “Try” back in 2005. The John Mayer Trio played as the opening act for the Rolling Stones.

I think it may be somewhat inaccurate to say that John Mayer’s solo career didn’t start until he “left” John Mayer Trio seeing as how Heavier Things and Room for Squares came out prior to Try
Um… John Mayer was a very successful solo artist prior to the formation of the Trio actually. Room for Squares and Heavier Things were both released prior to 2005 to both critical and commercial success, going platinum multiple times. I don’t think anyone wants to be reminded of the “Wonderland” or “Daughters” years, but they certainly happened.
The caption under this video is all wrong.
This song is not on Where the Light is and John was a solo song writer and artist long before the trio.
What the h$#% is wrong with “Wonderland” and “Daughters”…sheesh!
Yeah…the caption is totally wrong. But I like this version of the song, Steve and Pino bring the funk.

he isn’t “reunited” with the trio they’ve been together the whole time jamming and he’s making his entire new album with pino and steve.
And probably made around 40-50 million $ before he even made the trio.
But thanks for uploading and the solo is unbelievable.
