“Little House on the Prairie” star Sidney Greenbush, who decided to quit acting for a simple life on a horse ranch, is mourning the loss of her husband William “Rocky” Foster, who reportedly committed suicide by the corral behind their home in Visalia, California, on May 5.

“Rocky was a real cowboy of some renown, and they were a very down-to-earth couple,” a neighbor tells Star. “But some problems had developed between them recently — and it’s heartbreaking to think it came to the conclusion that it did.”

“My heart goes out to Rocky’s family and Sidney,” the neighbor tells Star. “Even with all their problems, I know she cared so deeply for her husband. But she’s a strong woman, and I hope she’ll be able to pick up the pieces and move on from this tragedy.”

Sidney asked for divorce just a couple of days before William’s devastating death. Her husband called her right before he shot himself in the head. Despite calling the Sheriff ’s Department and the frantic efforts to save his life, William died at a nearby hospital.
