Neda Agha Sultan (or Neda Agha Soltan) was a beautiful Iranian girl who died from a gunshot wound to the heart in the streets of Tehran while peacefully protesting with her father. The girl held a sign that read “freedom”, a simple cry for democracy in Iran.

“She only ever said that she wanted one thing, she wanted democracy and freedom for the people of Iran,” Neda’s boyfriend, Caspian Makan, told a reporter. The 27 year-old woman has become a symbol of rebellion/martyr for the cause in Iran.
