Google is getting ready to launch a new service, Google Voice, which was built with technology obtained through its 2007 acquisition of Internet telephony company GrandCentral and has been tested by a privileged group of GrandCentral users.

The new Google Voice service will give users a single phone number that can seamlessly route calls to their existing phones or even offer number portability, enabling consumers to move their existing phone numbers to Google’s infrastructure.

Some of the incredible features of this new service include voicemail that can be accessed from any phone or through a browser, with GMail-like archiving features, automatic message transcription that can be forwarded to preferred e-mail account, free SMS delivery and much more.

Google has recently obtained over one million new phone numbers from backbone operator Level 3 therefore Google’s new phone service is expected to be launched for a broader audience soon.

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford revealed his long-time affair with a 43 year-old woman, whose name is Maria Belen Shapur, from Buenos Aires, Argentina in a press conference on Wednesday (June 24). Sanford apologized to his staff, wife Jenny Sanford and family, and offered his resignation from the position of chairman of the Republican Governors Association.

The State Newspaper obtained e-mails between Sanford and his mistress Maria, who has two sons. These e-mails make us believe romance is not dead – these are absolute masterpieces! UPDATE! Farrah Fawcett Dead At 62

Actress Farrah Fawcett, who has been battling an aggressive form of inoperable anal cancer for three years, has been hospitalized again in the beginning of the week. Farrah is reportedly close to the end as a priest was called to intensive care to read the devout Catholic her last rites on Wednesday (June 24).

Farrah’s 90 year-old father, James, is racing to her side as doctors say she hasn’t got long to live. Her partner Ryan O’Neal, who had just revealed they were going to tie the knot as soon as the actress could say “I do”, is trying to get their son Redmond O’Neal a temporary jail release so they can all be at the 62 year-old actress’ bedside.

Polo Marino is the man who allegedly punched celeb blogger Perez Hilton in the face at a night club in Toronto earlier this week.  The assault occurred after R&B star will.i.am and Hilton got into a verbal spat in which Hilton called will.i.am a faggot.

Marino is the manager of will.i.am and The Black Eyed Peas entourage.  Haters of Hilton continue to praise Marino for doing what many of them wish they had the opportunity to do.

Legendary Iowa high school football coach Ed Thomas, legendary high school football coach from Aplington-Parkersburg High in Iowa, was shot and killed inside the weight room early Wednesday morning around 8:00am local time.

24-year old Mark Becker has been identified by police as the gunman.  Becker is a former student and football player at Aplington under Thomas.

Thomas was shot multiple times just before 8 a.m. local time, authorities said. About 50 students were in the school, including several in the weight room, at the time. School was not in session, and no one else was injured in the attack.

Becker had been arrested over the weekend and placed for a short time in a mental ward after leading cops in a wild car chase on Saturday night.

Coach Thomas had sent several players to the NFL and was named the 2005 NFL High School Coach of the Year. He had a career winning record of 292-84 in his 37 year career as a high school coach.

ESPN is reporting that the Phoenix Suns have traded Shaquille O’Neal to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic.

The move will give LeBron James and the Cavs a much needed powerful low post scorer in O’Neal. For the Suns the trade is purely a salary dump that will save them close to $10 million dollars for next season (when luxury tax savings is included).

Shaquille made $21 million dollars in 2009. He rejuvinated his career with 17.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Suns. He has won four NBA Championships and the Cavs will be his 5th team he has played for.

Wallace quit trying once he was rewarded with a huge contract with the Bulls three years ago. Pavlovic has never been much of a NBA player.

Veteran actor Lou Diamond Phillips is the winner of ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’ season two.  His winnings from the show will go to his charity Art Has Heart.

Even Heidi Montag and boyfriend/husband/loser Spencer Pratt showed up for the season finale of the show.

UPDATE! Mark Sanford’s Romantic Emails To Mistress Maria

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, who had been on an undisclosed location for the past couple of days, finally decided to open up and admit he had been having an affair with a close friend from Argentina. A teary eyed Sanford emotionally apologized to his staff, wife Jenny Sanford and family in a news conference on Wednesday (June 24).

Sanford said, “Let me first of all apologize to my wife and my 4 boys. I’ve let down a lot of people, that’s the bottom line. I’m here because if you were to look at God’s laws they are designed to protect people from themselves…it is indeed to protect ourselves from ourselves.”

“I’ve been unfaithful to my wife. I developed a relationship with what started out with a dear dear friend from Argentina. Recently over this last year it developed into something much more than that.”

“We developed a remarkable friendship over those eight years and then as I said about a year ago it sparked into something more than that,” Sanford explained. “I have seen her three times since then, during that whole sparking thing. … It was discovered five months ago and went into serious overdrive.”

The governor confessed his wife knew about the affair. When asked if he was separated from his wife Jenny, Sanford said, “I don’t know how you want to define that. I’m here, she’s there. I guess in a formal sense we’re not.”

Sanford, who did not reveal his mistress’ identity, offered his resignation from his position of chairman of the Republican Governors Association. Senator John Ensign, actor Morgan Freeman and Police Chief Edward Flynn have also recently admitted their affairs.

Aplington-Parkersburg athletic director/football coach Ed Thomas was shot and died shortly after arriving at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo on Wednesday morning (June 24).

Thomas was shot in the head at point-blank range in the school’s weight room where players were working out in preparation for this fall’s season between 8 and 8:30 a.m. There were about 50 students at the school when it happened but none were injured.

According to authorities, the gunman, who is reportedly not a current student, was captured shortly after the shooting, and is being held at the Butler County jail.

Thomas, who just finished his 37th season of coaching, was honored as the NFL High School Coach of the Year in 2005. Four of his former players are in the NFL, including Green Bay’s Aaron Kampman, Jacksonville’s Brad Meester, Detroit’s Jared DeVries and Denver’s Casey Wiegmann. In his career, Thomas wracked up 292 wins with only 84 losses, a 78 percent winning percentage which makes him eighth on the all-time list of Iowa football coaches.

Singer Nick Lachey and girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo have decided to call it quits just weeks after Vanessa denied their relationship was in trouble. The model/TV star’s rep told People, “They have amicably split but remain good friends who still greatly care for one another.”

Nick and Vanessa started dating in 2006 right after the singer’s divorce from Jessica Simpson. Despite Vanessa’s rumored romance with “Disaster Movie” co-star Matt Lanter, sources say she and Nick continue to be good friends.
