America’s Got Talent Kevin Skinner Audition Video

UPDATE: Kevin Skinner WINS America’s Got Talent VIDEO

Kevin Skinner is the American Susan Boyle. Just like the British internet sensation, Kevin was first judged by his looks and then shocked the judges of “America’s Got Talent”, David Hasselhoff, Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan, with his talent. Kevin is described as an aww-shucks-type unemployed farmer with rumpled clothes and the skin of a man who’s worked outdoors for years.

This guy is the real deal. Simple and humble, a heartfelt singer whose singing silenced the audience and held them captive with its beauty….THAT is what this show is all about. I love it when people like him come along and blow everyone away like that. He’s what we need in this overprocessed world of ours, just a simple country guy who can sing and strum and reach right down into your heart and move you like that with his singing and playing style. Kevin, you deserve to go all the way, and I’ll be watching in the weeks to come rooting for you to win it all. Thank you for a breathtakingly beautiful, simple, humble and unaffected performance. You’re just the tonic America needs right now.

I don’t watch the fake “reality” shows but caught this on the internet. Best singer/player I’ve heard in a long time. Don’t let them “package” and ruin you. Get a good agent and lawyer.

Kevin, I cannot stop watching your performance on AGT because you are humble, your mannerisms are slow and peaceful, and your voice is rich and calming, your portrayals filled with sentiment that goes straight to the heart. Please give us all more of your singing–I will buy any CD you record so that I can slowwww downnn as I listen. I love your accent. You are what America needs. Do protect yourself from wolves by getting that lawyer, whether you win this contest or not. (It is only a contest–you’ll have a career.) You’ve been heard and your career will skyrocket now. Please get a website or a fansite–someone help? Always remain your humble self because you are loved just for that–a wonderful combination of true manly beauty and sensitivity. Please don’t polish yourself up. We love you as you are!! But I want MORE of Kevin Skinner. God bless you and reward you for what you give to all of us!!

I wouldn’t listen to a country station on the radio—but YOU were just mesmerizing—I was in tears at the end of your song! Lovely voice and no airs about you at all—you just never know who is catching your chicken dinner. I hope you win—you are the best I have seen on this show!!!

This guy is fantastic. I certainly would not compare him to Susan Boyle. He is a very pleasant looking man who lights up the stage when he sings. He is extraordinarily likeable. I have watched his presentation at least ten times. I don’t think it matters whether he wins — he is on his way to stardom if he sings all songs the way he did this one. I for one have become a fan and wish him the very best.

Kevin you did that song as well as Garth Brooks if not better. You deserve to win this competition. Talent like yours is what country music is all about. None of the big stars have anything on you. You will go far and I will be waiting for your fist CD. Stay as humble as you are. You touched my heart way down deep. BRAVO! Ten Stars**********

He is funny and meant to be.
But poor Kevin got JINXED with the Piers JINX
      “you can win this thing”
isn’t that what he said to Susan B?

I hope you win this competition, but if you don’t I am sure you will become the next big country singer. I looked at your myspace page and from what I can see you are a down to earth person with a lovely family. You and your family desirve this. Goodluck and we are rooting for you!

i always admire simplicity, he was not ashamed to say to millions of people what he does for a
living. To me thats huge, it showed that he is a caring man. when he sang I was humbled I wanted to hear more. When you have had situations that ment a lot to you and can bring it out
in your talent such as sing, it really shows your heart.
I hope i can see so much more of him.

Kevin, you are one of America’s treasures. I have watched the video of your AGT performance over and over and the sheer honesty of you overwhelms me every time. You have a beautiful, calming voice…and I can’t overlook your wonderful guitar playing! But what ALWAYS gets me is your genuine, million-watt smile that reaches up to your eyes and lights up the stage. I hope you never stop smiling. Your singing and your persona bring to my mind Alan Jackson, George Strait, Trace Adkins. There are so few that can simply strum a guitar and sing and make the world stand still for a few minutes. We need more of that and we need more of you. Stay true to yourself and your roots…there is nothing shameful about being a real person and wearing your heart on your sleeve.

I too came from humble beginnings, the big difference is that you have talent. I was totally taken with emotion when I first heard you sing the Garth Brooks song, you definitely raised the bar for Garth Brooks. You are the breath of fresh air that America needs. If someone in the industry does not see your potential, a great loss of talent will never be heard. You have the down home type of personality that should keep you active for many years making music. I will be deeply disappointed if you are not brought to the forefront by honest, repectful people like yourself. I too, like many who have staated, I hope I can see and hear much more of you!!!

I just caught wind of this. I don’t usually watch AGT, but when I saw the link for Kevin’s clip, I had to take a gander. I thought he was going to be corny, but the more he talked and sang, the more his genuineness and salt-of-the-earth quality shone through. I’m not a fan of country music, but Kevin Skinner has a fan in me so far!

      Kevin:

I’ve listened to country for thirty some years. Your performance, voice and personality is what country was based on. I pray to see much more of you. Don’t get caught up in the Hollywood version of country, as you know most of those singers are gone and “just singers” with no heart. The way you are, reminds me of the greats, Waylon, Jones, Cash. Thank you.

I was not from this country originally but always enjoy listening to country muisc. This is the best country piece I have ever listened. It moves me almost in tears. I downloaded it from youtube and watched/listened to it countless times. What a wonderful guy! That voice is like ice-cold champagne going down my throat just after I crossed a desert.

Genuine american, voice, character and looking. I love it. Do not change it a bit. Kevin, stay as you are.

This song was written for Kevin to sing. Garth tried, but Kevin made it his own. What a lovely voice - a little like Randy Travis, but with feeling. That Kevin comes from a musical family is no surprise; that he has a brother with a masters in music from Notre Dame - now that tells you that Kevin didn’t fall off the turnip truck on his way from the chicken mill, accidentally winding up on the AGT stage with a beautiful guitar that sounded as rich and mellow as Kevin’s own voice. It shouldn’t have taken Piers 20 seconds because it took me the first chord on that guitar after hearing Kevin’s speaking voice. Kevin, we all cried with you because that’s the depth of the emotion you bring to your music. I sincerely hope that your career is all you’ve worked and hoped for. God bless.

Very very good Kevin. You made me cry. The sound from your voice and guitar was very pleasant and I was captivated with the whole song and the atmosphere was so gentle and I felt you were such a sweet kind soul. It sure reflected in your music. I am from Canada..but if I could vote..you would be it. When YOU MAKE YOUR FIRST Cd…I will buy it.
You do yourself…family ..community proud. If you make a CD of gospel music I sure would buy that too..
Waiting to hear more. You are not susan boyle…as u two have different style of music..but the two of you are just what the world needs. you have your sweet special talent and she has hers.

I agree with other suggestions that you should get an agent and an attorney who are trustworthy and will guard your interests. I don’t want you to have someone who will take advantage of your abilities and financial interests for their own purposes. I have voted all that I was allowed, and hope I get to continue to vote for you in the finals. You are already No. 1 with me. If you aren’t chosen No. 1 - heaven forbid - head directly to Nashville! I was driving home after work on July 1st, the day of your audition, my girlfriend was watching you on AGT,(she is from Ohio, Country Girl) the next day she told me at work that she taped something for me.I went to her house after work the next day, we watched your audition and you made me cry, since then, I keep watching your auditions on AGT, I starting listening to country music when I meet her and I actually like it, as of today with your music and performances “I LOVE IT”
Last weekend we went to Las Vegas NV,days before our trip I told my girlfriend that I wanted to buy me a guitar, Likely me when we were in the hotel I played a game and the prizes were guitars, guess what Kevin, I won a guitar, which makes me more happy to practice when I am listening to your songs.
Kevin, you deserve to win this competition people like you are hard to find, especially with the talent that you have brother.
Kevin, you are not making Kentucky proud only !!! you are making our Country proud with the talent that you have,

Honestly Kevin, how many chickens did you catched in one night?

Kevin, God bless you and every good wish for your success

      Kevin,
I’ve never seen a singing performance touch so many people as when you sang “If Tomorrow Never Comes.” I’m fixin’ to watch the video again. I know that it brought tears to MY eyes! I’m so glad that you won! I stood up and almost cried when they announced your name. My Country music loving son reacted happily, as well. America loves you, and we can’t wait to buy your first CD. Don’t forget to include San Antonio, TX on your concert tour list! Here’s wishing you a long and successful career!

Oh my GOSH. The people who voted for him could not really think that Kevin could sing, could they? I have to believe that they voted because of him being a ‘good ole country boy’. He really can’t sing at all, compare him to the opera singer. I feel sorry for all of you goofs that voted for him. Let’s be real here, would you actually pay to see this man sing? I think he’s a nice enough shy type guy but he has limited singing ability. A show in Vegas, that’s going to be a bust for sure.

YOUr right kevin was NOT the best voice on the show for sure…BUT..there was something magical that happend on the show. Kevin touched people’s hearts and soul. It is the whole picture that you don’t get to to see often. I love his heart and how he sings the songs. He keeps my attention right from the very start. I know that Barbara and others had better voices than Kevin’s…but he was destined to win the show…and sometimes we can’t always say why we love somone and touches our hearts…but some how Kevin did. He is that special person this year. Barbara and all others in the top 10 will get some kind of contract and will fullfill their goals and dreams. I loved the Texas Tenors too…and would not have been upset if they won and Barbara as well. But the chips fell to Kevin and I am so happy it has happend for him and his family. I pray they will stay strong and keep close together. Well I have said lots on this issue of Kevin winning so I will give the floor to someone else..who may agree or disagree what I have said..but that is ok too. God bless you Kevin and your wonderful family too. I am Canadian and here many of the folks this way wanted Kevin to win..but they would have been ok with Barbara winning or anyone else.

      Mr. Skinner,
I applaud you. I’ve never watched the show until I saw you on it. My thoughts were the same as the rest of America when I saw you walk out on stage. I said to myself, God I hope he’s good! You proved me right! Thank you for being true to yourself! You are truly a blessed man. Humble and sincere and with an enormous talent that we all needed to see and hear! I knew from the moment I heard you sing that you were going to win the competition. Thank you for sharing your “blessed” talent with all of America. Stay true to yourself and your family! I wish you all the best. God Bless you!
