‘Bachelorette’ Jillian Harris Picks Ed Swiderski

Bachelorette Season 5 Winner Ed Swiderski (Jillian Harris)

The fifth season of ABC’s The Bachelorette drew to a close on Monday night when ‘Bachelorette’ Jillian Harris chose Ed Swiderski to propose to her from her on the finale of the show.

Jillian chose Ed over Kiptyn Locke, who is has been tapped to be The Bachelor for season 14 (the real winner in my opinion).

So congrats to Ed Swiderski on being the winner of The Bachelortte season 5.

Harris was chosen as the ‘Bachelorette’ after Jason Mesnick rejected her on the 13th season of The Bachelor.

Nothing beats a good ole’ fashioned competition to find a desperate soul to marry you.

Gretchen Rossi at Dodger Day in Los Angeles

Gretchen Rossi Rocking Daisy Dukes at Dodger Day

‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ star Gretchen Rossi was one of the celebrities on hand yesterday for Dodger Day at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

I had thought we were years past the height of popularity for ‘Daisy Dukes’.  Perhaps the cut-off jeans have now become a timeless classic.

Gretchen rocked the boat earlier this year with her nude photo scandal that made her even more famous for simply being famous.

Lisa Rinna Rocks Pink & White Striped Bikini (Pics)

Lisa Rinna Rocking Bikini with Dogs

Actress Lisa Rinna rocked a hot pink & white striped bikini while catching some sun and fun on a beach in Malibu with her daughter on Sunday.

Rinna turned 46 earlier this month. She has been married to actor Harry Hamlin since 1997.  They have two daughters, Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray.

I think the photos say it all, Lisa has more than defied the laws of time, albeit with some small help from skilled hands.  The body does not lie though.

Boxing Great Vernon Forrest Carjacked, Shot Dead

The Late, Great Vernon Forrest

Former two-time welterweight and two-time junior middleweight champion Vernon Forrest was carjacked and shot to death on Saturday night in Atlanta.  He was 38-years old.

“It’s 100 percent confirmed. He’s dead,” said Shaw, who had two stints as Forrest’s promoter. “I will say this about him — he was a decent human being. His work with kids, I think people knew how much he cared for kids, underprivileged and mentally challenged people. He was a real decent human being outside the ropes.”

WSB Radio in Atlanta first reported the shooting, citing a police spokesman. Forrest, who was 38, was an Atlanta native. He was shot seven or eight times as he chased at least two men who had tried to steal his Jaguar as he put air in his tires at an Atlanta gas station, Lt. Keith Meadows said, according to the radio station.

Police said that Forrest, who was packing heat as well, chased down the two men who supposedly had carjacked him, gunfire erupted, and Forrest was shot several times and fatally through the head.

Forrest’s two biggest fights were his surprise victories against Shane Mosley in 1992.

Forrest had beaten Mosley to keep him off the 1992 Olympic team but when they met in January 2002 in New York, it was Mosley, then widely regarded as the pound-for-pound No. 1 fighter in boxing, who was a significant favorite.

Instead, Forrest knocked Mosley down and dominated the fight to hand him his first pro loss and win the WBC welterweight title. Forrest outpointed him in a closer fight in the July 2002 rematch in Indianapolis.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Vernon Forrest.

Forrest’s death comes just two weeks after boxer Arturo Gatti was found dead in Brazil.

Former ‘Idol’ Contestant Alexis Cohen Dead at 25

Alexis Cohen, who auditioned for American Idol, back in 2008 & 2009 (season 8), was found dead on the streets of Seaside Heights, New Jersey early this morning.

A 25-year-old Allentown, Pa. woman and former contestant on the television show American Idol was found dead at about 4 a.m. today outside at Dupont Avenue and Bay Boulevard, authorities said.

Alexis Cohen had auditioned in January 2008 in Philadelphia, and claimed “I march to a beat of a different drummer” in a 2007 American Idol interview on YouTube. She compared her singing talent to that of Janis Joplin, Grace Slick and Pat Benatar.

She was one of the more colorful and rememberable characters to appear on Idol. If you view her rejection tirade in the video above you can probably start to put the pieces together a bit.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Alexis.

If Simon can get in with the right DC people, if his entourage of one can sleep with the right intern, and if they can both stop the Prime Minister’s chief spin-doctor Malcolm Tucker rigging the vote at the UN, they can halt the war.
