Barack Obama’s Health Care Logo Controversy
It seems like not only President Barack Obama’s health policies are controversial but the new health care logo is also raising a heated debate. The creepy new logo resembles the Reichsadler, the symbol of the German National Socialist (NSDAP/Nazi).
I guess now those Obama Joker Poster (photos here) make some sense. Why so Socialist!?!

My goodness, seriously you are now comparing the logo with a Nazi logo??? Wow, I am sorry this is your blog and you are free to do and write whatever you want. However when you publish the dreck you just did, you should expect to get called on it. The symbol being used is the staff of Asclepios. What is frightening is that you would rather spend your time inciting fear rather than reason. Have you actually researched the plan or are you one of those who is listening to Fox news, and just being a polly and parroting the party line? I did not compare I merely reported what is being discussed in some forums and blogs as it is a hot topic at the moment. I actually think there is nothing wrong with that logo but just a few days ago some individuals spread posters of Obama as a Socialist joker… i made a connection like most people would. BTW, I’m not a Latina model and that is my real name!

Wow Chris just like the attempts by so called grass roots organizations at town hall meetings. Please save the nazism links to those who deserve them I pointed something out, and the ridiculousness of it. How that the person posting it did not do any due dilligence to vet said post before posting it. If they had not the ability to vet it, it likely should not have been posted. And the logo does bother me. Its the small circle with the red and white and the sun in the background, if you do a google search of Obama posters you’ll see this image in a lot of them. Sorry but thats very reminiscent of Nazi Germany.

I am afraid that it is thee that knows not of what he speaks.
You have referenced the staff of “Asclepios” (which incidentally is misspelled -The correct spelling is Asclepius) which is a staff with a single snake wrapped around it (see http://drblayney.com/Asclepius.html). What you actually meant to reference is the Caduceus of Mercury (Roman) and the Karykeion of Hermes (Greek).
I, in my most humble opinion, actually think the symbol appears to be Obama’s Civilian Army emanating from the United States with the Caduceus of Mercury which has sprouted the wings of Pegasus atop of the Obama all seeing eye and topped with a three star general’s helmet. (ROFLOL)
actually, the logo incorporates the caduceus, a symbol of medicine dating back to ancient Greece. Not the staff of Asclepios, which you normally find on EMS and other first line medical persons such as athletic trainers. They are often confused. I think that the wingers are a bit confused on their history and general colloquial knowledge, as demonstrated with this bonehead assumption. The germans liked the Roman Empire, and emulated them down to the iconography, like the staff with the eagle on it referenced above, which was used in various capacities representing the imperial Roman state. Even the famous Hitler salute, the outstretched arm, was a roman salute. I wish people like Rush would go to school, or at least peak at Wikipedia.
Maybe I am missing something. I see nothing wrong with the logo. I have, however, seen LOTS of things wrong with the health care bill itself. I think that is the more important issue.
The fact that people on focusing so much of their energy on the logo is pathetic. How about focusing their energy on the Health Care plan itself and deciding whether they think that is a good idea or bad. This is why other countries think Americans are morons. No one cares about the actual issues at hand. People rather waste time on the meaningless crap.

By the way, anybody who says Rush Limbaugh is an idiot or needs to go to school, etc., is slower than molasses. Rush’s show is mostly comedy, Gomer, and nearly all of his comedy consists of making fun of the left, i.e. this is something the left would do and be serious about it (criticize the logo, that is).

I don’t support Obama or his policies, but even I gotta say that this comparison is a stretch. These so-called “controversies” take energy away from discussion of the really troubling things the administration is doing.
Providing health care is NOT the function of government. This health care plan being written by politicians has in its sole purpose to control the people. The government will decide in its most efficient method who lives and who dies and when.
There is a provision in the House bill that allows the government access to your bank account & it allows them to take money from it to pay for health care. Stealing from the people seems to be the function of government these days by those people you elected.
This is a slippery slope that is best not traveled down. In 2010 we have a chance to put the brakes on this socialist’s designs on our nation. Vote out as many DemocRATs as it takes to stop this assault on our liberty and freedom. Personally, I would never vote DemocRAT for any elected office because they just can’t be trusted to preserve liberty.
Vote them out and vote in as many Republicans, Libertarians, and/or Independents as it takes to put the DemocRATs back into the minority where they belong and where they can do the least harm.
The comparision between the Wand of Hermes (not the Staff of Aclepios, research the difference. I don’t have time to explain.)and the Reichsadler is alittle far fetched. But I believe the comparasion was done to get a few laughes.
However, there are strange simularities which most aren’t willing to see. The eagle on the top part of the Reichsadler comes from the German Coat of Arms Symbol which is still used today in Germany, and the wings on the top part of the Wand of Hermes I have no clue what they represent or why they’re there, but Obama chose to use the symbol with wings. The swastika has many different meanings around the world, but I not sure why the nazis used it, however a few months ago while I was in India I notices swastikas everywhere and they told me it represented the ever “changing” universe. The symbol on the health care logo where the swastika would be placed is Obama’s logo he used for the election, which I know makes me think of the word CHANGE. (the scary thing is is that Obama’s logo is being used to represent a national bill that will effect weather possitive or negative us all). I have no clue what the 3 stars above the logo represent. The 3 branches of Goverment? The Trinity? (I don’t think so)
Anyways. So, the two symbols look alittle bit alike. It was “a” funny coincidence. Get over it and find the humor in it and just laugh. You know. Ha! Ha! Hey! Hey! LOL
