Kelly Clarkson Self Magazine Photoshop Controversy!
American Idol Kelly Clarkson graces the cover of the latest issue of Self Magazine (September 2009). Despite claiming in Self’s interview to be completely comfortable with her body and who she is, it’s pretty clear Kelly was completely Photoshopped in the magazine’s photo shoot.
About her recent weight gain, Kelly said, “When people talk about [it], I’m like, ‘You seem to have a problem’ — I don’t, I’m fine!’ I’ve never felt uncomfortable on a red carpet or anything.”
Self Magazine Editor-in-Chief Lucy Danziger defends the photo shoot saying it’s normal procedure in the industry to make some post-production corrections but claims it wasn’t done to make Kelly look thinner.
Danziger said, “Kelly Clarkson exudes confidence, and is a great role model for women of all sizes and stages of their life. She works out and is strong and healthy, and our picture shows her confidence and beauty. She literally glows from within. That is the feeling we’d all want to have. We love this cover and we love Kelly Clarkson.”
In fact, Kelly does look a lot slimmer in the photo shoot. I just don’t understand why this is a problem. It happens all the time. Do we need to remind you of Kim Kardashian Photoshop scandal (photos here)?
Kelly is a talented young lady and she is honest about her addiction to Photoshop. If she feels good exactly how she is, why do the media have to keep criticizing her appearance and basically just calling her fat!?!
