Maura Tierney Leaves Parenthood For Cancer Treatments
Actress Maura Tierney, who revealed to be battling breast cancer just two months ago, quit NBC’s “Parenthood” after concluding that her cancer treatments (chemotherapy and radiation) would conflict with her filming schedule.
Filming had already been delayed for the actress to undergo emergency surgery. The 44 year-old actress was set to play Sarah Braverman, a financially strapped single mother who returns home to her parents. NBC has not yet announced a replacement.
