Jennifer Grey On Patrick Swayze’s Death (Photos)
Actress Jennifer Grey, who played Frances “Baby” Houseman in the 1987’s hit movie “Dirty Dancing”, remembers Patrick Swayze as a “real cowboy with a tender heart.” Patrick died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday (September 14).
Jennifer said, “When I think of him, I think of being in his arms when we were kids, dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no one would ever see.”
“Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace,” she adds. “My heart goes out to his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, to his mom, Patsy, and to the rest of their family.”
The 49 year-old actress, who clearly had a lot of respect for her co-star, also said Patrick was fearless and “it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified.”

I am SO very sorry for the Swayze Family. I would like them to know that because of the movie “Dirty Dancing” and due to the fact my husband had left me around that time, that I took up Ballroom Dancing and supported my daughter with teaching at the school. I know this sounds like something someone would make up, it is entirely true. We lived in Ft. Worth, Tx. and I was at the school for 5 years and made a good living for my daughter and myself. I am sure that Patrick will live on in the hearts of EVERYONE. I know that he will in mine.
