Jimmy Carter Racism Idiocy (Video)
Former President Jimmy Carter accused South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson, who interrupted President Barack Obama during his health care speech to Congress last week (watch video here), of basically being a racist for is outburst against Obama.
“I think it’s based on racism,” Carter said at a town hall held at his presidential center in Atlanta. “There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.”
Carter really needs to think before he speaks. He went too far with his racist accusations. Where is freedom of speech!?! So every time you disagree with what President Obama you are racist?? I don’t think so! It’s politics! That is why there are different political parties with different views!

I am sorry but when you have someone who has an association with the Sons of Confederate Veterans, someone who wanted to keep the confederate flag flying on the state capitol building. Yeah, why is Jimmy Carter an idiot for calling out this Congressman? Guess what? Jimmy Carter didn’t take a congressional oath like Joe Wilson. Joe Wilson took an oath to NOT heckle the President. Agree with President Obama or not he deserves respect. I tend to vote for Democrats, but I would expect respect from a Congressman for any President. It’s Jimmy Carter who has the right to freedom of speech as much as Joe Wilson, but Wilson chose a forum in which he’d agreed to not behave in that way. He could have easy held a press conference afterward. Oh, and Joe Wilson is just blatantly wrong. Conservative critics complain that the bill lacks an enforcement mechanism, but that hardly makes the president a liar.

Carter is absolutely correct in his assessment. The disrespect shown is indicative of an underlying hostility that most upper class and lower educated whites have. I am a white female, born and raised in this county - I grew up in a racially and ethnically mixed neighborhood and have seen racism on both sides. Each feeds the other with ignorance.
