Roman Polanski Arrested On Sex Charges (Photos)
Polish-French movie director Roman Polanski was arrested when he was trying to enter Switzerland to attend the Zurich Film Festival, which would honor him with a lifetime achievement award on Saturday (September 26).
The 76 year-old director has been living in France for decades to avoid the arrested warrant from 1978 on sex charges after being accused of offering alcohol and having sex with a 13 year-old girl during a photo shoot at actor Jack Nicholson’s house back in 1976. Roman then pleaded guilty to a single count of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor but fled the country before he could be sentenced.

Roman was put “in provisional detention” and authorities are working on his extradition to the United States. The victim, Samantha Geimer, has already sued the director, received an undisclosed settlement and recently asked for the case to be dropped (read more details).
