Famed Lucy Vodden, the real life Lucy from The Beatles’ song ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’, died after a long battle against lupus at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London last Tuesday (September 22). She was 46 years old.

Lucy, who’s maiden name is O’Donnell, was a school friend of John Lennon’s son, Julian Lennon, then four years old, who came home from school with a drawing one day, showed it to his father, and said it was “Lucy in the sky with diamonds.”
