NCAA President Myles Brand, who will be forever remembered for firing coach Bob Knight, died after a 9-month battle with pancreatic cancer surrounded by family at his home in Indianapolis on Wednesday (September 16).

“Myles Brand was a dear friend and a great academic leader. … a tireless advocate for the student-athlete,” said Michael Adams, president of the University of Georgia and chairman of the NCAA Executive Committee, which will select his successor. “Indeed, he worked to ensure that the student was first in the student-athlete model. He will be greatly missed.”

Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski’s underscored Brand’s fence-mending with college basketball coaches, saying, “He was a true friend of college basketball, and the game made great strides as a result of him looking at things out of the box — trusting coaches, trusting players and making appropriate changes that have brought along more dialogue than there has ever been about our game. He will be missed as a man, he’ll be missed as a leader and he’ll be missed as a friend.”

Major-college faculty athletics representatives said in a collective statement, “We hoped against hope that Myles would beat the odds. … His leadership will be sorely missed among all NCAA member institutions.”

Myles is survived by his wife, Margaret Brand, and a son, Josh Brand.

WWE’s Linda McMahon, who is married to Chairman of WWE Vince McMahon, announced she would resign to run for Senate in the 2010 election in home state of Connecticut on Wednesday (September 16).

Linda, who has been CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. since 1997 and has been dedicated to make it more family-friendly, will most likely have U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons and former Ambassador to Ireland Tom Foley as opponents for the Republican nomination.

Former President Jimmy Carter accused South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson, who interrupted President Barack Obama during his health care speech to Congress last week (watch video here), of basically being a racist for is outburst against Obama.

“I think it’s based on racism,” Carter said at a town hall held at his presidential center in Atlanta. “There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.”

Carter really needs to think before he speaks. He went too far with his racist accusations. Where is freedom of speech!?! So every time you disagree with what President Obama you are racist?? I don’t think so! It’s politics! That is why there are different political parties with different views!

UPDATE: Raymond Clark ARRESTED For Annie Le’s Murder

The 23 year-old Jennifer Hromadka is the fiancé of Raymond Clark III, who has been named as a “person of interest” soon to be considered suspect in the murder of Yale Graduate student Annie Le (read more details).

Ray and Jen shared the apartment that was searched by the police on Monday and a MySpace account and a still empty wedding website. In May 2008, Jennifer wrote on MySpace about a rumor that her “wonderful” boyfriend was possibly having an affair with a Yale lab tech. Annie Le!?!?!?

Jennifer wrote, “My boyfriend, Ray, if you don’t know him, has no interest in any of the other girls at YARC as anything more than friends. He is a bit naive, doesn’t always use the best judgment, definitely is not the best judge of character but he is a good guy.

“He has a big heart and tries to see the best in people ALL THE TIME! even when everyone else is telling him that the person is a psycho or that the person can’t be trusted. He thinks everyone deserves a second chance and has a hard time hurting people’s feelings and it takes him getting burned to learn.”

On Friday after Annie Le was reported missing, Jennifer wrote, “Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I’m not perfect and I don’t live to be, but before you start pointing fingers make sure your hands are clean!!”

According to the police, Annie was asphyxiated in a different room then stuffed in a crawl space inside a wall in a basement that was used to store research animals, which suggests the killer had intimate knowledge of the place. The 24 year-old Ray Clark worked as an animal research technician (read more details on this story).

Yale University animal research technician, Raymond Clark III aka Ray Clark, has been named as a person of interest in the tragic death of Yale graduate student, Annie Le, who was found dead stuffed in a basement wall on Sunday (September 13), the day she was supposed to get married to Jonathan Widawsky.

Annie had been missing since Tuesday (September 8), when she was last captured by a security camera around 10 am entering the lab at the Amistad Street building, where she worked as a graduate student in pharmacology. Raymond work very close to Annie and he, his fiancé Jennifer Hromadka, sister and brother-in-law, who also worked at the same lab, did not show up for work on Tuesday.

Police and FBI raided Raymond’s Middletown apartment and took him into custody while searching for DNA, hair and other evidence that might link him to the murder. Raymond reportedly has scratch marks on his chest, which suggest he was involved in a struggle. Raymond Clark III is not considered a suspect yet.

The police is waiting on the DNA results, which will come out till the end of the week, to either nail him for the murder or rule him out as a suspect. Annie was reportedly asphyxiated then stuffed in the wall. There may be a romantic link between her and Raymond, who is also set to tie the knot with his fiancé later this year.

Who Won Big Brother 11?? The big winner of the night at the Big Brother’s house was one of the favorites, Jordan Lloyd, who took home the $500,000 cash prize on Tuesday (September 15). Jordan won the final round 3 of HOH competition and got 5 of the 7 jury votes. Natalie came in second with two votes and takes home $50,000 while Jeff won the favorite houseguest prize of $25,000.
