Harry Connick Jr. Shocked By BlackFace Jackson Jive (Video)
Australian talent show “Hey Hey It’s Saturday” guest judge Harry Connick Jr. was completely shocked, giving a zero score to the “Blackface” Jackson Jive skit, in which four men with afro wigs and black face sang and danced behind a Michael Jackson impersonator wearing white makeup (watch video below).
The 42 year-old American singer/actor visibly upset with the performance told the group that if they ever attempted it in the United States, it would have been pulled off the air. The show host Daryl Somers apologized to Harry at the end of the live show, saying, “I know that to your countrymen, that’s an insult to have a blackface routine like that on the show, so I do apologize to you.”
Harry confessed he would have never accepted to appear on the show if he’d known about the ‘racist’ skit. “I just want to say, on behalf of my country, I know it was done humorously, but we’ve spent so much time trying to not make black people look like buffoons, that when we see something like that we take it really to heart,” he told Somers after his apology.

I demand an apology from African Americans for the offensive lyrics of snoop doggy dog (not a minstrel)’s lyrics. As an Australian woman I find them very insulting and demeaning.
I would also like to know how they further the cause for African American community and promote a good image to the rest of the world for you.
Your comment is very stupid and ignorant. How are you going to demand an apology from a whole group of people based on one person’s actions or words? How would you like it if someone judged you negatively based upon the actions of someone that you don’t even know because you are of the same ethnic group as that person? You seem to know how to use the internet so why don’t you do some research, and see for yourself that Snoop’s( he dropped the doggy dog from his name about 5 plus years ago) lyrics have been strongly condemned on numerous occasions by black people especially black women. People like you are what’s wrong with the world today, instead condemning that obvious racist routine by a group of no talent idiots, you are trying to shift blame on to someone else. Your point is also null and voided because Snoop doesn’t even use racially charged lyrics, so what are you talking about? You aren’t making any sense.
