Ralph Lauren Model Fillipa Hamilton Fired For Being TOO FAT (VIDEO)
Model Filippa Hamilton, who recently made headlines for the controversial Ralph Lauren ad (read more details), has been fired by Ralph Lauren’s clothing company because she was too fat. TOO FAT?? Filippa is a 5-foot-10, 120-pound and a healthy size 4 gorgeous woman.
The 23 year-old model revealed she was fired before the disastrous Ralph Lauren ad came out and she was shocked seeing the digitally altered unhealthy, unrealistic image of herself.
“They fired me because they said I was overweight and I couldn’t fit in their clothes anymore,” she said. “I was shocked to see that super skinny girl with my face,” she told the Daily News. “It’s very sad, I think, that Ralph Lauren could do something like that.”
Polo Ralph Lauren apologized for the controversial ad in a statement (photos here) but claims it had nothing to do with the end of the Filippa’s contract, which was explained “as a result of her inability to meet the obligations under her contract with us.”
Filipa, who worked for Ralph Lauren since 2002, is concerned about the damages that image might cause in her career and its impact on the public. “I think they owe American women an apology, a big apology,” she said. “I’m very proud of what I look like, and I think a role model should look healthy.”

Lol….this is crazy. Fillipa is gorgeous. Anyone in their right mind can see that Fillipa was a victim of narcissism…..perhaps because “Mr. Ralph lauren” made a mistake in his demands to get the girl overly photoshopped. In the narcissistic world that some of these designers live in, he could not bare to accept his error. Thus resolved to throw his trash on her, by firing her. I”m sure whoever did the artwork, can also attest to the flack he got after following his orders, that back fired ……This is the reason why there are no black girls on the runway, too fat, too tall, and oh I forgot “black girls don’t sell” (yet the department stores will tell you a different story all together)……Ralph Lauren just got caught. There’s a whole line of these mean natured designers. Mr Ralph Lauren …. I am a black model who is 5ft. 10in, 120lbs, black and I have been described as gorgeous, yet I’m sure, do not fit in the description of “The Ralph Lauren look” that they are looking for. Kate White, I’m banking on your words , “offer” Fillipa the 8 pages on Cosmopolitan and I will buy 8 copies of Cosmopolitan magazine….lol ladies and Guys too, follow suit. Kate is right she says “women NEED to protest and back it up with their pocket books”…yes, you got it “DO NOT BUY RALPH LAUREN”.
