‘The Real Housewives of New York‘ star Bethenny Frankel and boyfriend Jason Hoppy revealed they just finally got officially engaged, despite the fact that she had already been spotted wearing a beautiful engagement ring (photos and video below) and Jason had proposed over the summer.

“It feels great, because I’m with the right person,” says Frankel, 38. “He may be regretting it because it’s been beyond a week and he’s in panic mode – [but] no, we’re enjoying it.”

Adds Hoppy, 38, “She is very much a handful but one thing she did say to me is she needs a man that can handle her, and that I can.”

Jason’s proposal, which included hundreds of candles and rose petals, was very romantic – he got down on one knee and told her, “You are the love of my life. Will you marry me?”, then he offered her a Kristin Farrell diamond ring with a 6 ½-carat pear-shaped center stone flanked by two side stones. Bethenny and Jason met in 2008, got engaged after a 11-month courtship but they still haven’t set a wedding date.
