Richard Ramirez ‘The Night Stalker’ Killed Mei Leung (PHOTOS)
Richard Ramirez, a serial killer awaiting execution on California’s death row at San Quentin State Prison, best known as ‘The Night Stalker’ is now a suspect in the murder of a 9 year-old girl named Mei Leung. Richard was convicted and sentenced to death in 1989 for 13 murders committed in 1984 and 1985 in Southern California.
Mei Leung was found murdered in the basement of a residential hotel at 765 O’Farrell St., where she lived with her family, after walking home with her 8-year-old brother from a friend’s house back in 1984 (it is possibly Richard’s first murder). This cold case was taken out of shelve due to new DNA evidence that linked Richard to the crime scene.
There are no details about how Mei was killed but police will continue to investigate this murder and several other homicides that occurred in that area around the same time. Richard, who is not 49 years old, has not been charged in the Mei Leung case yet.

25 to 27 years ago I worked two cases in San Diego near the freeway, husband and wife attacked. Ramirez fit the description but then LA took him into custody and we didn’t have DNA. Once he was never going to see the light of day the department didn’t want to pursue it.
I’ve long since retired I’m glad San Francisco had a detective that would not let go. In fairness to San Diego PD this was back before they had a cold case squad and they may have eliminated him through DNA.
Hope he rots in hell.
As a mother of two young girls who lives in the Bay Area, I would be more than happy to administer the lethal dose this child-killing ***hole deserves! I am angry that my tax dollars are being spent in a state that is broke to keep this loser alive. I’d be happy to rid society this boil on society’s backside – let’s hurry things up already!
Maybe now his family will believe that he molested his niece over a 6 year period. Apparently some family members do not believe that richard molested his niece. Maybe now with some actual DNA results hopefully this will bring some kind of vindication for this now woman.
