Falcon Heene’s mother, Mayumi Heene, finally confirmed what the world already knew – the balloon boy story was a very well orchestrated hoax, which was exposed by the boy on Larry King Live (watch video).

Mayumi and her husband Richard Heene created this fantastic story to make their family “more marketable for future media interest.” The parents specifically told their sons to lie to investigators and the media.

“Mayumi described that she and Richard Heene devised this hoax approximately two weeks earlier,” investigator Robert Heffernan wrote in the sworn affidavit. “The experimental flying saucer was specifically made to carry out this hoax.”

Both Richard and Mayumi may legal charges and they could also be charged by Social Services for conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It’s absolutely scary what some people will do, using their own sons, to get media attention!
