Former staffer Nell Scovell finally speaks up to unveil the dirty undercover world of the Late night shows commanded by whoever plays the ‘sexual politics’ better. Nell was the second female hired to write for David Letterman in 17 years and worked for only five months before leaving the show.

“People who have no knowledge of the situation are voicing opinions, so why not me?” Nell Scovell writes. “Letterman himself opened this up to a public discussion … I’d like to pivot the discussion away from the bedroom and toward the writers’ room, because it pains me that almost 20 years later, the situation for female writers in late-night-TV hasn’t improved.”

Nell reveals what we already suspected – David’s sexcapades with female staffers started a long time ago. Stephanie Birkitt was not the first and she sure won’t be the last because that is how it works in Letterman’s office.
