‘Boyzone’ Stephen Gately has been found dead in his bed after a night out in the island of Majorca, Spain on Saturday (October 10). Stephen was enjoying a vacation with his partner Andrew Cowles (photos below). There are no more details about this tragic sudden death. Stephen was 33 years old.
‘Boyzone’ members Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham & Shane Lynch, posted the following message on their official website:
“We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother, Stephen. We have shared such wonderful times together over the years and were all looking forward to sharing many more. Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. He lit up our lives and those of the many friends he had all over the world. Our love and sympathy go out to Andrew and Stephen’s family. We love you and will miss you forever, ‘Steo’”.
Boyzone, the first Irish boyband which separated in 2000, had six No. 1 singles in the United Kingdom, four No. 1 albums and reunited in 2008 to release a greatest hits album “Back Again … No Matter What“. Stephen, who shocked fans when he revealed he was gay a decade ago, and his partner Andrew tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2003 and finally had a civil ceremony in London back in 2006.
