News anchor Contessa Brewer accidently introduced Jesse Jackson as Al Sharpton on MSNBC Wednesday (October 21). Jackson was not amused and corrected Contessa, who embarrassingly apologized for the mistake.
Actress Collin Wilcox, best known for her role as a rape victim in “To Kill A Mockingbird”, died after a long battle against brain cancer at her home in Highlands, North Carolina last week (October 14). Collin was 74 years old and is survived by her husband Scott Paxton and their children, Kimberley and Michael.
Collin began her career in theater, starring alongside Burt Reynolds in 1961 Broadway play ‘Look, We’ve Come Through’. She was awarded the prestigious Clarence Derwent Award in 1958 for her performance in ‘The Day Money Stopped‘. The actress stepped out of the spotlight in the 1980s to care for her mother in Highlands.

A 7 year-old girl, Somer Thompson, from Clay County, Florida, had been missing since she became separated from her schoolmates on her way home from school in Orange Park, Florida, on Monday.
Sadly, Somer’s body was found in a south Georgia landfill 55 miles north of where the little girl was last seen, according to Sheriff Rick Beseler, on Thursday (October 22). A homicide investigation is being conducted but there are no details about the way the girl died.

Choreographer Mia Michaels announced she is leaving So You Think You Can Dance via Twitter (just like Paula Abdul!) after 5 years on the show. Although the reason for her departure is not clear, Mia hints that there are new projects she wants to work on.
“I am officially an adoring fan of SYTYCD…Thank U for 5 wonderful yrs,” Michaels, 43, tweeted. “To create moments and movement for the world to share with me was a gift…Thanks SYTYCD and look forward to what’s ahead for me…lookout world!”
SYTYCD executive producer Nigel Lythgoe released a statement about Mia’s exit: “We are thrilled to have given a talent such as Mia Michaels a platform to create Emmy Award-winning choreography. During the auditions this season she has helped choose the best, most diverse top 20 we have ever had. She knows that she is always welcome to return later this season or next. She’s chosen to move on to new challenges and we will continue to support her and wish her all the best.”
Mia appeared with a shaved head on SYTYCD show last night, which has sparked controversy about the real reason for the choreographer’s departure. ‘Does Mia Michaels have cancer?’is the question on everyone’s mind… a bit dramatic! Mia has an unique sense of style so she probably just wanted a radical image change. We are sure Mia is fine and ready to embrace new challenges.

‘The Real Housewives of New York’ star Bethenny Frankel, who just recently announced her engagement to Jason Hoppy (photos), has revealed she is, in fact, two-months pregnant with her first child.
The 38 year-old mom-to-be was forced to reveal the news after pregnancy rumors were quickly spread via gossip blogs. Bethenny and Jason couldn’t be happier. They are just praying everything is okay with the baby.
“It’s premature to be telling people this,” she tells while fighting back tears. “It’s not like, ‘Did I Get Botox?’ It’s not the way I wanted it to get out,” she says. “I haven’t even gone through my first trimester. We haven’t even heard the heartbeat. My [fiancé's] parents didn’t even know.”
The lovebirds are not worried about getting married soon since their main concern is the baby and enjoy this wonderful stage of their lives. Bethenny said, “I got to be honest, we are both feeling kind of proud of ourselves. We are both 38 and we were like, ‘Listen, your fish can swim and I am fertile.’ So that’s exciting.”

Marcus Jordan, the 18 year-old son of the legendary Michael Jordan, is a college basketball player for the University of Central Florida who has been involved in a major controversy because of the shoes he wears in court.
The UCF allowed Marcus to wear his father’s Nike Air Jordan brand for the Knights’ basketball team this season but they have exclusive $1.9 million contract with adidas that requires all coaches and athletes to use the company’s shoes, apparel and game equipment.
“When I was being recruited, we talked about it,” said Marcus Jordan, who led Young to the 4A title last season. “They said they had talked to the adidas people and it wasn’t going to be a problem. I think everybody understands how big of a deal it is for my family.”
“It’s a level of importance with the Jordan Brand and my family,” he said. “It’s no disrespect to adidas. I have a high level of respect for adidas, but I’m going to be wearing Jordan shoes. I’m wearing the adidas uniform and all my other UCF gear is adidas, but the shoes are going to be Jordan Brand.”
The problem is adidas officials claim they never reached an agreement with UCF about Marcus’ shoes so this has strained their contractual relationship and will possibly complicated the current contract renewal negotiations.

I want to work because it brings me a sense of self worth and dignity, I like my job. I may not be the lead or I may not get the starring roles that I used to because so many movies revolve around youth, but I refuse to go away because I enjoy it. I always find a way to get work. It may not be the best parts I used to get or it may not be as easy, but I’m still here.”
