Former NFL linebacker Chris Spielman’s wife Stefanie Spielman passed away at the age of 42 after a long battle against breast cancer on Thursday (November 19). Stefanie had been diagnosed with breast cancer about 12 years ago when she was 30 years old and three months pregnant.

“Stefanie has gone home to be with the Lord,” Chris Spielman said in a statement. “For that, we celebrate, but with broken hearts. I want to thank everyone for their support over the last 12 years. Together, with your help, hopefully we made a difference in this fight.”

Stefanie, who created a support group for young women with breast cancer and created a fund to help breast cancer patients and their families, was inducted into the Ohio Women’s Hall of Fame in 2002 for her work. R.I.P. Stefanie Spielman!
