Shaunie O’Neal, the wife of the legendary Shaquille O’Neal, filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday (November 9). The couple currently lives in Miami but Shaunie pulled the kids out of school several days ago taking them to LA with her.
Shaq’s people are basically calling Shaunie a gold-digger because she chose to file the divorce papers in LA, where she can get a better spousal support. Shaq and Shaunie tied the knot back in December, 2002, and they have four children together (Me’arah, Shaquir, Amirah and Shareef).

An armed man, Christopher Craft, who is a former student of Stissing Mountain High School, held the school principal, Bob Hess, hostage for more than an hour before he surrendered to the police without firing the gun on Tuesday (November 10).
“Evidently, there is some speculation that he (the gunman) had a loved one in the military and somehow this is some contrived scheme on his part to do something about that,” Pine Plains Town Supervisor Gregg Pulver told The Associated Press Radio.
The students who had been locked in their rooms are being evacuated and the worried parents are being gathered in a parking lot at a restaurant close to the school. Fortunately, this incident had a happy ending but the gunman’s motive is still unknown.

Singer/songwriter Tony Braxton and Keri Lewis’ eight year marriage reportedly ended after Tony and Trey Songz’s super hot steamy kiss at the Soul Train Awards in Atlanta last week (photos below).
This public display of affection between the two R&B stars was the last straw in Tony and Keri’s troubled marriage. The couple tied the knot in April 2001 and they have two sons together, Denim Cole and Diezel Ky.

NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), a rare form of leukemia, back in December 2008 but his prognosis is encouraging and he even turned into spokesman for Novartis, the Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis, which makes a drug that treats the illness.
Kareem wants to make a different and raise awareness for this type of cancer. He said, “I’ve never been a person to share my private life. But I can help save lives. It’s incumbent on someone like me to talk about this.”
The 62 year-old was absolutely devastated and scared when he heard the diagnosis. “I was scared,” he said. “I thought it was all the same. I thought it could mean I have a month to live. That was my first question. Was I going to make it?”
The Lakers special assistant sends a message of hope for everyone suffering from this disease – he claims he continues to work and still manages to eat what he wants with some reservations. “I’m able to sneak out for Thai food,” Kareem said. “There is hope. This condition can be treated. You can still live a productive, full life. I’m living proof I can make it.” Keep strong, Kareem!!
Former Miss California Carrie Prejean, who is currently promoting her new book “Still Standing”, admitted the sex tape was the biggest mistake of her life and explains she was just a teenager in love who did stupid things to make her boyfriend happy (watch video below). Who can blame her?
Carrie is handling the consequences pretty well – she is using it all to promote her book now! There is no bad publicity for Carrie. Even the former beauty queen’s mother was completely shocked when she saw her solo X-rated tape.
In her tell-all book, Carrie basically blames a naughty society completely obsessed with porn for her “dirty” behavior – nude photos, nipple slips, etc. Carrie distinguishes between mainstream porn (e.g. nipple slips, topless photos) and hard-core porn (e.g. sex tapes!) but we believe Carrie has done both. I don’t think society says it is OK to be a porn star, even homemade porn star or does it?
Carrie wrote, “Unfortunately, pornography has become mainstreamed — it rushes at us through big screens, portable screens; soft-core porn is on mainstream TV cable stations, hard-core porn is just a mouse click away on the internet, and the envelope of what seems acceptable seems to get pushed farther and farther as more and more people are exposed to this material.
The result is that girls grow up in a culture where it is hard to have an innocent, healthy, normal view of themselves, how they should behave, how they should act, and how they should dress.”
Carrie then addresses the topless pictures directly, and states, “Our bodies are temples of the Lord. We should earn respect and admiration for our hearts, not for showing skin to look sexy … I have since learned that your outer beauty can only get you so far in life.”
Now if only Carrie actually followed her own advice instead of flashing too much skin… we just hope she learned something from her own experience. It’s easy to preach when it only applies to others and you put yourself at a higher level.
