‘Allah Akbar’ Kimberly Munley PHOTOS: Hero Of Ft Hood
A civilian police officer by the name of Kimberly Munley, who was stationed at the base, shot one of the Fort Hood shooters, Major Nadal Malik Hasan, four times, potentially saving dozens of lives, before getting hit by a bullet.
Sergeant Munley is currently receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and comes out of as one of the heroes of the Ford Hood massacre [read more details]. The shooter identified as Major Hasan, an army psychiatrist due to be posted to Afghanistan, shouted “Allah akbar”, which in Arabic means “God is great” as he opened fire.
Hasan had argued with some of his comrades and was clearly against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and had been trying to get out of the Army but he wasn’t known as a risk at the base.
