MTV “Jersey Shore” Guidos Offensive To Italians (VIDEO)
“Jersey Shore”, which follows the adventures of 8 new reality stars, Nicole “Snooki”, Angelina “Jolie”, Jenni “JWow”, Mike “The Situation”, Ronnie, Sammy “Sweetheart”, Vinnie and DJ Pauly D, and their insane party lifestyle while they are stuck together in a beach house in Seaside Heights, N.J., premiered on MTV Thursday (December 3).
The show is already causing a lot of controversy after its very first episode because of use of the term “Guido” and “Guidette”, which is considered offensive and has enraged Italian American groups.
Pauly D said, “Guidos… when we stop, our chrome keeps spinnin’! I was born and raised a Guido. It’s just a lifestyle. It’s about bein’ Italian. It’s representin’ family, friends, tanning, gel, everything. Dude I got a f**kin’ tanning bed in my place, that’s how serious I am about bein’ a Guido and living up to that lifestyle. My tagline is ‘I’m Your Girl’s Favorite DJ.’ I want the girls to c** in their pants when they hear my music.”
UNICO National (the “Largest Italian American Service Organization in the USA”) said in a statement to TMZ, “Italian Americans are OUTRAGED and they are helping us reach out to sponsors to ask them to stop advertising with MTV until they agree to pull Jersey Shore.” Did you watch Jersey Shore? What did you think?
