Michelle Obama, the First Lady of the USA, was announced as the most fascinating person of 2009 by Barbara Walters during a special on Wednesday (December 9). It has been a crazy year for the delightful Michelle, yet she still manages to look absolutely gorgeous and she is taking her role in the White House pretty seriously.

“It has been a whirlwind. But it’s been amazing,” Michelle told Walters. “I mean, if you think about this year, I had to get these two beautiful girls settled into a new city, into a new home, into a new school. We got a dog. I visited eight countries with my husband. I planted a garden. I’ve started a mentoring program. It has been everything. And now, here we are at our first Christmas in the White House.”

The list included celebrity personalities like Lady GaGa, Adam Lambert, Sarah Palin, Kate Gosselin, Glenn Beck, Tyler Perry, Brett Favre, Jenny Sanford and Michael Jackson’s three kids (Prince, Blanket and Paris).
