Want Reasons Not to See AVATAR?

Avatar the Movie

On the fence about whether to go see James Cameron’s groundbreaking film Avatar and need a good reason why not to go see it? Well if so then here is a sampling of some of more negative reviews of the futuristic film from Yahoo! Movie reviewers.

CoolM - The same social & economic retards that beleive that the government isn’t gonna drive up your costs of living, beleive this movie is great. because they have been dumbed down to a level of not questioning anything…just except it. Such a total joke of pathetic socialism tree hugging globial warming retards that disrespect the military as those that serve are blood thirsty merc’s! Cameron You just lost me as a patron of your films! Two weeks is all you have to make your money before the “word of mouth” gets out! An agreed with clintster_38 what a hack job of Cowboys & Indianns!

Andy - This was hands down one of the most ridiculous stories ever written for the big screens. The acting was poor, the dialogue was horrendous, and the message was childish. I can’t believe all the hype that went into this picture. It goes to show you all the money hollywood has to wast on such stupidity.

DavidR - Meh, cheap story, lame dialouges, lamer character (so-call) development. It’s obvious the movie wasn’t any good so they had to spend a fortune on the visuals and graphics. So I’m not thrilled. It’s GREAT for children!

Clintster - I went to see this Movie due to James Cameron’s incredible track record with his movies….but…Yahoo actually was not useless for once! I sat up watching the “clips” and the more I watched the dumber this movie looked, just like 2012….I skipped the 12am showing an the 10 bucks to see the day showing, and all I can say (and I would like people to say in their reviews,if they agree) this movie was to me…. what seemed to be a really cliche rehashed Cowboy’s and Indians sham hack!

I am not kidding when I say this…. the Na’vi look and act like American Indians, from Mohawks, war paint, bows & arrows, right down to riding 6-8 legged creatures that resemble horses, The technologically advanced “evil corporation ” was of course white guys that don’t care about anything but money . Now with this pathetic duo couple the politically correct tree hugging global climate socialist crap we all know to well in today’s society and spend 200 million and you have this debacle! NO acting or original story. All was spent on effects which are AMAZING! But we all know it takes more than this to make a movie.

This movie was like Peter Jackson’s remake of King Kong, it just dragged out for what was needlessly an hour to long of special effects that really wore on the audiences patience. You could have walked into the movie an hour after it started and not missed anything! All this was a blind attempt to get you to suspend disbelief to actually care about this story which at this point was brain dead!

I wanted to walk out so many times but didn’t because I suffered to that pont and I only spent 4 bucks, and I wanted to see the epic battle scene, if you saw the trailer you saw it… only a few bangs were left out! But …the last part people actually burst out in hysterical laughter when….The tree hugging clan talked to their planet and the planet listens and communicates with ALL the animals (which at this point had only been predator and prey) and you guessed it they unite and attack all the bad guys!

I will simply say this, I will NEVER again go see a movie that Cameron is involved in because he sold out like Steven Spielberg and the rest, and betrayed the most basic principal, he sold his reputation to pawn this crap off on the public! This thing will get hyped for two weeks then you will see it tank because this movie is a joke to an art form of story telling. And until Hollywood wakes up and gets it, the only way to get through to these pin heads is…IN THEIR WALLET!

Andrew - Three hours for a plot that one could have predicted five minutes into the movie. The acting was just horrible…all the “bad guys” are played as monosylabic, blood-thirsty, animals while all the natives are all-knowing, all-loving, sages of wisdom. This is basically Dances with Wolves but in cartoon form and with none of nuance or acting performances of that film.

I agree with some of the other reviewers that i almost dont believe all these other yahoo reviews…this movie was almost unwatchable in my opinion.

Dalic - Hippie porn all the way. I just wish I could see a great movie one time that left out all the political crap. People may commit suicide over this because in this movie humans are evil. The only humans not evil are those who attempt to become aliens. The only thing good about the movie was the special effects. And by the way at the time of this review the user average was A-, yet the entire first page was F’s, D’s, and a C. Something fishy going on?

Overall on Yahoo! the film is rated A- by the Critics and  A by Yahoo! Users.

This was 1 of the best movies i have seen…..for all those that say it’s not worth watching, you are all just muppets who didn’t understand the simple message this movie gives, just goes to show that the easy and simple things in life escape even those who think they are so much better and superior to others…..sad….. hopefully we can rid the world of your useless genes.

      Bleach,

I randomly came across your comment. Your post is an excellent portrayal of exemplary critical thinking and reading comprehension. Furthermore, you also demonstrate a strikingly effective way to present your point of view and argument. The end of your post adds a subtle humor which most won’t understand. I applaud your catabolic analysis of those people with which you do not agree. Keep up the good work, and consider posting on Youtube! It’s a haven for such thoughtful insight.
